This workout is a funny mix: it is too easy to be high intermediate or advanced, but the moves are complex enough that it isn't suitable for beginners struggling to learn form and choreography. I am an advanced exerciser but I still enjoy some intermediate stuff if it is effective and fun. Cardio-wise, I felt like it was the equivalent of marching on the spot most of the time except maybe the final cardio section felt like jogging on the spot. Sculpting-wise, there were so few reps of everything that it was totally useless. You never feel anything. As other revieweres have noted, these two practices (which you can view one after the other by choosing the 'complete' routine on the disc menu) are not typical yoga in that they are not about strengthening the body. They are strictly about stretching and relaxing. I found the lack of being warm a problem at first--I don't like to stretch cold--but that is really my only complaint about this DVD (other than wanting a bit more attention paid to the hip flexors--a problem area for many). The "practice" is merely 25 minutes long and includes only a handful of poses! She keeps talking about how "heating" the routine is but I NEVER got warm. She would do half a sun salutation and then a lunge and then talk about how warm the breathing was making our bodies. In order to warm up, one has to do a lot of sun salutations or something similar to really get all of the muscles warm. Only then can all of the stretches really work and/or be comfortable. She started doing stretches and I was thinking, 'but we've only just started and I'm not warm yet,' but it was the end of the program! She even says, during the spinal twist stretch (on the floor), that "you WOULD do this after a… Read more
