About the Author

Master storyteller and humorist Stuart McLean is the author of several bestselling books, including Vinyl Cafe Diaries, which won the short fiction award from the Canadian Authors Association; Home from the Vinyl Cafe and Vinyl Cafe Unplugged, which both won the Stephen Leacock Award for Humour; and Welcome Home: Travels in Smalltown Canada, which won the CAA's award for non-fiction. If McLean were to write MY biography, I think that I'd rather that people go read IT than meet ME. McLean views even the seemingly ordinary with an extraordinary angle, making even the most regular-looking tales involving cigarettes, blizzards, and dorm life sound like the quirky adventures they truly are.

A repository of a certain Dave and Morley's family anecdotes (which, I promise you, would strangely remind you of your own), "Vinyl Cafe Diaries" is the kind of book that you'd expect to read once and put away...but, on second thought, would transfer onto your "favorites" shelf IN CASE you can revisit it someday. mainly to laugh again, of course.

This a collection of short stories about the very humourous trials and tribulations of a Dave, Morley and family and some of their escapades.

I laughed so hard I had tears running down my face. Surely this
author has met my family? Highly recommended.
