Book Description

This little volume ( the result of meditation and experience) is not intended as an exhautive treatise on the much-written upon subject of the power of thought. It is suggestive rather than explanatory, it's object being to stimulate men and women to the discovery and perception that-- "They themselves are makers of themselves". As he or she thinks, so she is; as she continues to think, so she remains. This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

Ingram

Allen's practical philosophy of successful living has awakened millions to the discovery and perception of the truth that "they themselves are makers of themselves". Building on the Bible verse. "As a man thinketh, so he is", Allen insists that it is within the power of each person to form his own character and create his own happiness.

5.0étoiles sur 5 No one realizes how much affect..., Aoû 2 2007

(REAL NAME)
No one realizes how much affect that their thoughts can have upon their entire life. This book shows the direct connection between how you think and what happens in your life. Allen lays out the idea that when you are thinking about something repeatedly, it will lead to an action. This action leads to a new habit and the new habit to a new character. In the big picture, your thoughts make you who you are. That is why you need to change the way that you think about things. It can turn your life around!

This review is from: As a Man Thinketh (Paperback)
I didn't really enjoy this book too much, and still don;t understand why it is so widely read. Maybe its just not my my type. I have read many similar titles from authors like Napoleon Hill, Orison Swett Marden, Charles Haanel, etc., and I must say I thought the works by those authors were clearly better than this one. I would not recommend this book.
