4.0 out of 5 stars Do You Dream Of A Land Downunder?, Dec 8 2003
By
Arwen "AKA Arwen" (Austin, TX, United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
These cards were gifted to me. The night I got them a group of us drew from the deck and passed the book around to read the meanings of the cards we had drawn. They are not like some oracular devices where nearly anything you read can be applied to you. These really struck at the heart of each and every person there.

I put them away after that and really didn't use them much until last night. That is what prompted me to come here to write a review. I have read Tarot since 1988 (professionally since 1993). These are not Tarot, but if you are familiar with Tarot, then you will see the similarities.

One of the major challenges of this (and any round deck) is the tilt aspect. Up or down is simple. But when the card has the image flying to your right or left, then you have to stop and really apply yourself to the reading at hand.

I don't know that I would use this deck to do readings for others (I still read professionally), but as a meditation tool for myself, I find it very useful.

If you are looking for something a bit different to give that Tarot addict you know, do consider this deck.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best divination system that I have seen!, Jun 16 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Oracle of the Dreamtime: Aboriginal Dreamings Offer Guidance for Today with Cards (Paperback)
This beautiful deck consists of 45 round shaped cards and a beautiful book which explains each card and how to use the oracle. I really think that this divination system is better than the traditional tarot because each card refers to an acient australian aboriginal legend which you can relate to your personal life and drawn insightful conclusions. Of course, in the book you find the explanation of each card which consist of a narration of the legen plus an interpretation and of it.

Finally a very useful thing about this deck, its that it is round-shaped (each card has a dot at 12 o'clock position indicating its upward position). This not only gives rises to the traditional upward/downward interpretations but opens a new world of posibilities since each card can be pointing towards another card giving new insights in your readings.

I am really amazed at the readings you get from this oracle, go for it! you will not be disappointed!

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally a TRUE Australian Oracle, Sep 1 2004
By Susan Chester-Woods - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Oracle of the Dreamtime: Aboriginal Dreamings Offer Guidance for Today with Cards (Paperback)
I live in Australia and it's a true delight to have such genuine native Aussie cards! I love Koori paintings and these are done very well. The cards have several pages each in the comprehensive book, which also includes several spreads (including the Southern Cross) and a list of Australian Bush Flower Essences (very handy!). Each card had a Dreamtime story about the animal involved, and each is verified and origin listed. There is also a Glossary if you don't understand the terms used.

These are a beautiful set of cards. I love the round shape which is so unique. As a professional card reader and clairvoyant I attuned the cards and did a reading upon myself just after recieving them and found them highly accurate! Even my 14 yr old daughter could read them and she's never done it before.

Highly Recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, Feb 11 2002
By Sandy Gola - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Oracle of the Dreamtime: Aboriginal Dreamings Offer Guidance for Today with Cards (Paperback)
I am in love with this book and divination system. The beautifully drawn round cards afford the readings personalized complexity and shades of meaning. Without needing any tarot training or psychic ability, you can really "read" a lot into your cards. Also, a nice touch is the appendix with guide to specific flower essences. All around, it's elegant, well thought out and beautifully done.
