Product Description

Product Description

The Fokker Triplane probably generates more interest than any other First World War aircraft. It is one of those rare aeroplanes to which the word legendary can be applied without exaggeration. This is a new and highly detailed study of the aeroplane which earned its place in aeronautical history though the achievements of Manfred von Richthofen and other leading German aces. The book, which is profusely illustrated, includes a brief outline of the history of the Fokker company, the development of the Triplane, its initial employment and its subsequent use over the front line. There is also an analysis of unit and individual markings. This book will become a leading reference work on the subject and will appeal to First World War enthusiasts, aero-modellers, aviation and military historians.

About the Author

Paul Leaman is currently the managing editor of Cross and Cockade, the journal devoted to the history of aviation in the First World War.

(REAL NAME)
An excellent history of the development & deployment of WWI's most famous fighting plane. Makes a great companion piece to Leon Bennett's more technically oriented 'Three Wings for the Red Baron'.

This is the end all book for the FOKKER DRI triplane. The book follows the technical development, production, deployment and service record of the triplane. A very complete easy to read and informative book. Paul Leaman has poured years of research into this volume. An absolute must for any WWI aviation enthusiast and serious student of WWI aviation history.I highly recommend this book.
