1.0 out of 5 stars Five songs for the price of a whole album... amazing!, Nov 20 2003
To sell only five songs for almost the same price of whole album is the typical example of greedy decisions made by a record company. It's absurd, even being AC/DC, my favourite band.

THere are five songs here: four from their first album, released only in Australia back in 1974, called "HIGH VOLTAGE", and one from the Australian version of "DIrty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap", the master piece track called "Jailbreak". Why on Earth, (back in 1981, when Atlantic finally released "Dirty Deeds" in the US) they chose to take "Jailbreak" out from the album and replace it is beyond my compreension....

Well, you got my point... this album, altough the five songs are very good, makes no sense at all. IT was born as a greedy decision by Atlantic, nothing more than that.

2.0 out of 5 stars Where's the beef? Good songs, short album, Jun 11 2009

(REAL NAME)
74 Jailbreak is more of a "single" than a full length album, and although the songs on it are good, it is missing the breadth of a real album. The CD is only 24 minutes long! I love AC/DC, and I like the songs on this album, but where's the beef? A few live tracks or other songs from the Bonfire discs would be suffice. It is an example of Atlantic's selfishness, but, for me it's a die-hard fan's purchase; not so much the casual listener.

2.0 out of 5 stars Let me tell you a story, Mar 17 2004
By Micheal Hunt (Hellbourne) - See all my reviews
(TOP 500 REVIEWER)
In 1974 AC/DC released there first album, which was called "HighVoltage" (not to be confused with the world issue)
the tracks where

1. Baby Please Dont Go
2. Shes Got Balls
3. Little Lover
4. Stick Around
5. Soul Stripper
6. You Aint Got A Hold On Me
7. Love Song
8. Show Buisiness

AC/DC's second album was called TNT and when they went international, they released a new international album also named HIGHVOLTAGE which contained most of the songs off TNT except for "School Days" and "Rocker"

Then after the trajic death of Bon Scott the fans were still screaming for more Bon! Already DDDDC was released in Australia, but it was banned from US markiting because some idiot thought it was promoting the wrong thing... you know how they are... and so they took one track off DDDDC (australia) called "Jailbreak" and then added most off what was still unreleased from the OZ HV album.... and thats where the downfall really comes from this re-issue

this re-issue should have contained the 2 other songs from the original
- Love Song
- Stick Around

Amongst many others still unreleased to this day!

My advice is to not get this album, and go for the Australian release of HighVoltage instead and The Australian Dirty Deeds albums!

1.0 out of 5 stars Grade F
Nothing here at all. Hard to image that this is the heavy metal group of the 80's. More hard rock than metal. Song writing skills are very lacking.

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 Stars x 5 Songs = 25 Stars ((Remaster Review))
Despite longtime AC/DC fans' immediate acceptance of replacement singer Brian Johnson (resulting in one of rock's all-time best boneheaded shred fests, 1980's Back in Black),... Read more
