Pearl Harbor 60th Anniversary Commemorative Edition
Pearl Harbor 60th Anniversary Commemorative Edition
DVD ~ Ben Affleck

4.0 étoiles sur 5 This film WILL live in infamy, Jun 4 2004
If the film makers were to title their travesty more accuratly it would be called, "Ben Afleck has nearly predictable girlfriend problems for like 2/3's of the movie and uh, sorta unrealisticly participates in the nation changing events at Pearl Harbor." I guess that title was too long for them, but never the less, this is certianly not an adiquate depiction of Pearl Harbor. Where this movie fails, is in its own ignorance of the title it shamefully claims. Absolutly no reason was given for the attack itself, or why we faild to prevent it. More so, the Japanese are depected as comming up with their plan for attack not only sponaineously, but OUTSIDE while their kids fly kites!! Think about the absurdity of this: The Japanese are one of only two military forces ever to attack our country since its formation (the revolutinary war dosnt count)with the other attack taking place on 9/11. This was a briliant military achievment that took countless hours of planning. And please,...I highly doubt that the war lords of Japan would hold top secret meetings outside in the open. Furthure more they certianly would never have taken their kids.
Despite all this the depiction of the attack itself was fairly well done, with spectacular CG effects that truly place the audience into the middle of the chaos. This is especialy evident in the hospital scenes both during and after the initial attack; they expertly convey a sense of hoplessness and confusion. However I hardley believed that Ben Afleck could piolet an aircraft. All in all, this is a big bugeted effort that displayes an ausome 30 minute invasion sequence that must convey what really happened, and a furthure two and a half hours of some kind Romance that deserves no place in any serious war film.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 The difinitive trilogy since Star Wars., April 27 2004
Not since the Star Wars trilogy has there been such a monumental film series. While much critisism has been focused on the theatricle versions of the film (the ones presented in this box set), it is my personal belief that extended versions are in no way supperior to their edited counterparts. There is a legitimate reason why the films were trimmed down (could The Return of the King get any longer?). If you watch the films (both theatrical and extended eddition) you will realize that the latter are indeed paced better. The release of this set is all too convienent; in fact it comes out the day I get out of school (wink wink, mom, if you reading this). It sure would make a supurb "out-of-school" gift (wink, wink)

5.0 étoiles sur 5 five stars all the way., April 12 2004
This has to be the most retarded movie I have ever had to suffer through. It seems that one of the two cameras that were used in the making of this "film" (If it can be called that) was slightly jaundiced. As a result every other shot is in a completly different tone than the one it follows. Since this is a foriegn film (look for dubbing that gives "Kung Pow" a run for its money in overall quality) some people may pass this off as artistic. Whatever it is, you will notice it from frame one --and if that weren't indicitive eneough of a bad movie, once you see the Canadian company that impoprted this crap's opening logo, you will promtly experience a seizure. And that my friends is rarely a good sign. The nonexistant acting makes Pokemon the Movie look like Gone With the Wind. Possibly the best thing about this abomination is the completly rad box art. Despite all these shameless defects, this is a definite classic. Me and my friend laugh our heads off from start to finnish --every time we watch it. Be sure to watch the scene where "Dragon" jumps up infont of some generic evil ninja dudes as if to kick them, but instead magicly appears about five feet behind them as they fall as if they were kicked, without dragon traversing any space at all.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Great movies, but buy with caution., Mar 24 2004
The films that make up this box set are, in a word, epic. However, as many of you know, there are the extended edditions with supurb supplimentary features disks. When I learned of the Fellowship extended eddition (from a trailer on the origional dvd I had just spent $20 for) I nearly killed myself.
It wasnt so much that I was upset about the money, I was just uneasy with the fact that I would have to buy the same movie twice in order to experience it fully --wich is a marketing ploy if I ever saw one. I vowed not to be decieved again, happily passing by the theatrical release of The Two Towers. When I finnaly got my hands on the extended eddition I discovered to my supprise that I liked the theatrical version better! Im not entierly sure why, I quess I just thought it was paced better. Now I havnt seen the extended version of the Return of the King (could that movie get any longer?), but if its anything like the Two Towers, you can expect an incredibly lenghthy film, with ausome exteras.

My point is, If you havnt seen the extended edditions, rent them, because you may just find their theatricle predecessors better. If so, buy the box set. Its even released on the last day of school (at least for me!), and it would make a great gift for your kids. Oh, and Mom, just in case your reading: this box set would be the diffinitive gift for your loving son.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Stop this nonsence over Temple of Doom., Oct 13 2003
Ok this is the problem; all of you would love to have Raiders of the Lost Ark, alot of you The Last Crusade, and practicaly none of you, Temple of Doom. Now look at the price of this set,
... YOU CANT EVEN BUY TWO DVD's FOR THAT! Plus you are getting a 200+ minuite bonus feature dvd, and I know you dont want to sacrifice all those extra's. Lets see, thats four dvd's for the price of less than two. Now for the first part (at least in my oppinion) Temple of Doom is not that horrible of a film anyway, but if you just cant bear to have it, simply get rid of it. There are a thousand things you can do to wipe your hands clean of this burden. Ever heard of Ebay? Hey I think Electronic Butiqe (I think I spelled that wrong) will PAY you for your unwanted DVD's. If your lazy and dont want to go through the trouble of selling it, simply give it away ( hey I'l take it) or just stick it in the trash. One more thing -- dont give the fullscreen version 1 star! Now I prefer widescreen over fullscreen just as much as the next intelligent person, BUT, Amazon does not distinguish between the two versions. In short you are hurting the overall rating of the widescreen version as well by giving the latter a low score. So keep what I said in mind, stop complaining, and order the movies

Remember, "All I know for certian, is that I know nothing at all".

5.0 étoiles sur 5 An enjoyable experience., July 9 2003
What in the name of all things good is wrong with all you critics? How can anyone bash this quality movie? This motion picture has offered me more enjoyment than any cinimatic event to date. Very rarley does a movie move me so much that I even consider cheering outloud. Well, the entire audience including myself cheered on more than one occasion, marvaling this outstanding movies incredible special effects, as well as heart-warming and faced paced plot. This movie is fun. We need more fun movies these days, simple as that. I am tired of seeing "films", and not movies. If I am going to shell out ten bucks for a movie, the last thing I want is to walk out of it depressed, or feeling ripped off. This movie has alot to offer, so dont listen to these inane negitive reviews and buy this DVD. By the way, this DVD is top notch,.. the best yet. This is much metter than episode II, by a long shot. One more thing,...STOP complaining about Jar Jar!! He is funny and adds to the movies overall quality. If you want an incredible movie that is fun to watch, for the hole family, with an ausome end battle and good old fashiond Star Wars feel, treat yourself with this gem of a movie. That is all.

This game is a discrace dbz. You spend your time doing pointless and stupid quest like giving flowers to people and fighting squirls to raise your power level. After an Hour of this you fight the boss. The figting is anything but dbz . You walk around and go up the bosses face and preform the solar flare technique. The bad guy is frozen for two seconds giving you enough time to punch him . After he wakes up you do it all over agian until he dies. Lets see, I dont seem to remember goku doing that in the show. I recomend this game only to those who enjoy getting riped off and waisting their precious time playing some lousy game and regreting they diddnt spend their mony elswhere. I hope infogrames PS2 game isn't as lousy.

3.0 étoiles sur 5 Super sayia-jin 3, July 24 2002
In this vhs Goku holds off Buu with his super sayia-jin 3 power. I have not seen the Japanese version but in the english one when Goku transforms he starts screaming really lound and it sounds really stupid . The battle that follows is not as great as I thought it would be because it seems the animaters had a hard time making fluid movement with Goku's super saiya-jin 3 hair so most of the fight scenes have little movment . You should get the dvd and see the Japanese version instead .

3.0 étoiles sur 5 A little on the boring side, July 23 2002
Ce commentaire est de: Dragon Ball Z Androids Invinci (DVD)
I was presented a choice of several dbz dvd's and I saw this one had four episodes instead of the usual three so I bought it.....big mistake . There was some action in the beginning whith the androids fighting the z warriors . They decide to leave and go find Goku because thats what there "programed" to do . Whatever, anyway the z team goes to relocate Goku . You see various shots of Goku crying out in pain . Remember, he has a heart virus . Goku has a bad dream of the androids comming and hurting his family and friends and he is powerless to stop them . The only problem with this is Goku has never seen android 17 or 18 and dosn't know they exsist so I dont know how he can dream about them . They story moves on with the pointless adventures of master Roshies pet turtle and Maron . Maron eventuly leaves and Piccolo fly's off to Kami's palace to fuse with him . Kami is reluctant because he thinks the androids arn't a threat to the earth so Piccolo says he'l wait right there until he decides .Eventuly the z team reaches Goku's house to relocate him to Master Roshies island so the androids cant find him . Trunks tells you about how evil the androids are until Bulma calls and says that she found an unknown craft .She sends them a picture and it's Trunks time machine . The only problem is trunks has his time machine with him . Who's time machine is this ? find out on the next episode of Dragon ball z . The End . I am learning Japanese and since they talked 99.9% of the time in this dvd it helped boost my vocabulary . If you are not learning Japanese don't buy this dvd unless you like bieng bord to the point that you stand up from your chair and scream, DO SOMTHING !!!!!!!!! The dvd also comes with the english version but I dont know if I could live through that . This concludes my review .
