This book does have a lot of good information, but the drawings are sketchy and inadequate for a beginning woodworker. Even worse, the drawings are rarely next to the relevant text. For instance, when you're reading the Purple Martin house instructions, you're looking at the Phoebe house.

This book is written to a very specific audience: backyard birdwatchers of Great Britain. So if you're British, you might like this book. However, the text is a little dull and the few lackluster photos don't liven it up.

This is the best field guide I've ever seen, for any state, region or country. Birds are grouped by color, making it easy for the novice birder. Includes large color photograph of every bird with separate pictures to differentiate females and juveniles. In addition to basic information, interesting behaviorial tidbits are included for each species. I could not be happier with this book.

Beware! This book has only 4 chapters and is less than 4 inches high. There are no pictures (other than a couple comics) and instructions for the very few techniques described are very poor. The entire book can be summarized in a single sentence: massage is good; relax and you'll like it. I can't comment on the full-size, full-length version of this book, but the miniature version is useless.

I have over thirty cookbooks, but this is the one I use the most. It has great recipes for everything from chili to pie, and is so clearly written, that even a novice cook can get good results.

The color photographs are vivid and in focus. The descriptive text is interesting and useful. However, this book ought to have been called our 25 favorite spiders and 75 favorite insects. I haven't been able to find a single local spider in the book (and we have many to choose from). It's really less of a field guide and more of a coffee table book.
