1.0 étoiles sur 5 A story of her childhood only..., Nov. 13 2011
I love Jann Arden's music - the dichotomy between her sense of humour and mournful melodies. When I saw her book I thought it would be wonderful to find out how she "made it" in the Canadian music industry. 2/3 into the book she's 14 years old and I'm wondering when will this get to be about how her career got started? Well, the answer lies in the rushed last few pages which leave you hanging wondering "so now what?" Although this is an interesting story about growing up as a girl in the 70's in Canada (I'm 1 year older than Jann myself so I could relate) there is really nothing of interest or substance here. Jann waxes lyrical about the mundane....a perm gone wrong, a hot dog lunch???? Give it a miss, and put one of her CD's on.....this book was not worth the time, effort or money.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Great First Novel, June 19 2007
I picked this book up on a whim having nothing to read - I could not put it down! The author does a great job of describing Buenos Aires and the novel is fun without being over the top. The ending is obvious but I had to keep reading because I wanted to "see" it happen so badly. A great summer read - perfect for the beach or poolside! I'm looking forward to move novels from Jessica Morrison.

This review is from: Amos Lee (Audio CD)
I saw Amos Lee open for Norah Jones - had never heard of him before and was just blown away by his lyrics and his "easy, laid back" style! I bought his EP after the show and have been eagerly awaiting the release of this CD. Although if you own the EP some of those songs are included here (different versions)this CD is worth the SMALL amount of money it costs! Call him a male Norah Jones if you've never heard of him before - pure voice, great music for a Sunday afternoon. I hope that this is just the beginning of a long road for Amos Lee!
