There are moments when a movie defines a genre, and moments when a director puts so much work into a movie, some prevail, yet some fail. Francis Ford Coppola and his "Godfather" series undeniably belongs in that category. Coppola was given the chance to make The Godfather come to life from the book. Many people thought that the movie wouldn't turn out succesful and people were hired at the last minute here and there just to speed things up. But instead, Coppola refused ideas here and there from Paramount {the studio} and has made Godfather more than great; it's a masterpiece of epic proportions. It was so good that it won an academy for best picture and rightfully so. But the best was yet to come win Coppola yet made another Godfather and perhaps deserving more so than it's prequel, with this movie not only winning more academy awards, but also being the first, and so far only, sequel to win best picture. Some may argue the fact of which is better, but one things for sure, Coppola has given movies that other movies should take notice.
