5.0 étoiles sur 5 Excellent release from a Great Band!, July 23 2014
I ordered this from the Band's website and it exceeded all expectations. I have been a fan of this band for years but mainly the period with the original lead singer "Fish". I have tried a few times to get into the music from the second part of their career but it never clicked. I have a friend that is a die hard fan and I ended up ordering a copy with his. I LOVE THIS BLU RAY. Excellent show with excellent audio. It's shot very well to boot.
Here is the part that might get confusing. The version from the website is NTSC region free (not the region coding listed here). It also consists of three Blu rays. Two live shows plus a third disc with their last album in 5.1. So I don't know which version this is or how many discs (once again it's hard to buy something when you don't know what it is). This sells for roughly the same price on the bands website and at least from there you know it's the full Monty and properly region coded.

4.0 étoiles sur 5 Great Set but bad sound, 3.5 out of 5., July 17 2014
Audio - Audience Cassette Tape
Performance - 8/10
Historical Importance - 8.5/10

These are the only shows the stooges did as a five piece and the band is on fire. The down side is the audio is really bad. Basically this was recorded on one of those cassette players from the '70's. You know the ones with the crappy little microphone and the big red record button that you had to push down at the same time as the play button. It's also before high end cassettes were around. So the sound is bad but the bands energy level is high and for the Stooges they were tight. It contains a few songs that did not make it to the three official albums out at the time. But each show has pretty well the same set.
Over all I love this set but I would have to rank it a 3.5 out of 5 stars because of the sound. But it comes in a very nice CD booklet case holding the four CD's and a booklet. Pretty well built. So the presentation is great.
This set is not for everyone but if you are a Stooges fan and you are familiar with some of the live boots that are out there you know what you are going to get. The bonus here is getting to the hear the Stooges like you never have before and sadly will never hear again.

After reading Amazon reviews it's pretty obvious this album Jethro Tull fans seem to love or hate. Even Ian Anderson does not seem sure about this record. However I have benn very impressed with the Albums that have been remastered to date so I took a shot. I love this record. The keyboard work reminds of Tony Banks from Genesis. The album has a very thick sound to it and it was not destroyed by today's mastering standards. This is not overly compressed. Once again Steven Wilson does a stellar job remixing and remastering this album.
As a major Progressive Rock fan (my tastes are all over the place. Whether it be Miles Davis, Opeth, Neil Young, David Bowie, etc.) I am loving this 5.1 reissue craze. When a mix is done right, like here, it's like hearing the song for the first time. Plus with the loudness wars going on it's the best way of getting a nice open mix with great separation. Don't get me wrong there are some really bad 5.1's out there but the od's of a good sounding remaster goes up when on this format.
In closing, the record itself is Tull at their Progressive rock peek so you might want to check out Auqualung or Thick As A Brick first. But if you like those this should put a smile on your face!

What a crash after "Welcome To My Nightmare". By this point in his career he had already become a solo act. By the date of this release Alice had made four classic albums with the Alice Cooper group and one great solo album "W.T.M.N" then he crashed and burned with this one. It had one hit single "I Never Cry" which is a ballad. It sounds like Alice did not know what to do next. This is the sound of an uninspired man.
Despite Alice having a successful carrer to this day he has never come close to matching those five records. However he is still great live.

Do not by this if you have the live album "Iggy & Ziggy" it's the same show. But to tell you the truth I find the sound better on this version. You can hear Bowie a lot better. However if you have neither of these titles pick one up it's a great show!

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Finally released and the Blu ray pure audio is the one to get!, July 8 2014
Achat vérifié(Quest-ce que cest?)
It's about time this finally came out but the wait was worth it. The Blu ray Audio version of this release is stunning. Let's put it in context this was an album recorded 40 years ago but they have done an excellent jod with the mix and any mastering involved. The show is the compete 3 set concert so you get solo as well as CSN and CSNY music. The sound is full and the performances are some of their best. The bit rate is 196/24 uncompressed LPCM so you can't get audio better then this (yes that includes Vinyl).
This set is so much better then the 4 way street collection released years ago of this tour. If you like great classic rock these guys were at it's loftiest peak. I do want to point out again they did a great job mastering but these recordings are from 40 years ago so don't expect it to sound like a Peter Gabreil album.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Quadrophina the best way you will ever hear it!!!, July 1 2014
Ce commentaire est de: Quadrophenia (Blu-ray Audio)
I received my copy about three weeks ago from .uk and this is a wonderful 5.1 Blu ray. I was a little cheesed about there only being an 8 track 5.1 disc in the box set but at least it's this version is at a fair price. The mix is Awsome. Better then the 5.1 of Tommy that came out (I still can't figure out on Tommy why the drums come out of the left rear speaker). Where that was good this (in my opinion) is one of the best 5.1's out there. There is also a stunning transfer of the original two track master.
This is a record I find people either love it or hate it. I feel it's one of the great two LP sets of all time. There is no filler on this album. All four members play great. It's just a stunning album.
The 5.1 Blu ray is cheaper then the CD set and as I pointed out it has a stereo mix so you do not need a surround sound system and for twenty dollars you get the whole double album on one disc.
One more thing they used the original two track as a guide so the mix is very close to the original.
What else can I say "Just Buy It"

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Best Print and Audio of this film ever!, June 27 2014
Achat vérifié(Quest-ce que cest?)
I love this movie and I love the print used. This is the best version I have seen. A hard Days Night was released a couple of years ago on Blu ray but that version does not hold a candle to this one. Besides a bueatful print the music was remixed at Abby Road and the sound is stunning. This also has lots of bonus features including "you can't do that" a documentary hosted by Phil Collins going thru the filming with various interviews of people involved with the film. Even Roger Ebert makes an appearance. This doc has been out of print for years plus there are tons of other features as well and a nice thick softcovered book.
If you have the old one and you are happy with the one you have stick with it. If you want the best you will want this. Oh yea and audio wise you Get Mono, Stereo or 5.1 to pick from.

This is an excellent collection of the Stooges rehearsal tapes. I know most of these collection suck but that is not the case here. The Audio here is excellent for a bootleg. It dosen't sound like a new Peter Gabriel album but it is miles above the crap that these indie labels put out. The 2 CD's provide some new songs as well as some work ups of old and a few covers thrown in. This is from the Stooges Raw Power period so the music is very aggressive (as all great Iggy Pop records are).
The only negative thing I can say is about the packaging. This was definatly produced by the lowest bidder. It is not made to last with really cheap cardboard and not the best CD holders on the inside. But it's the music that counts and this is great.

Excellent collection of Steven Wilson's Ambiant recordings. Never before released on CD these four albums are very close to Brian Eno's Ambiant work. If you saw Steven Wilson on either of his last two tours this was played as intro music .
This collection is not for everyone. I am sure a lot of people say "I could do that" but that's not the case. There is a structure to these songs. Be it hard to pick up but they are there. If you like people like Eno, Bowie's "Berlin" period records, Vangelis or Tangerine Dream you might want to check these CD's out. I would say start with a single disc to see if you like it but this set is limited to 2000 copies world wide. For what you get it's worth the $60 price tag!
