Great Book to get started fast!!!, Jan 2 2010
I never knew REST, heck I wasnt even familiar with SOAP before reading the book. This book helped me deliver my project which is based on REST web services. Plus it made my univ professor's mouth shut when I implemented a REST project for a course whilst the 'rest' of the students did theirs in SOAP (hehe). I basically fell in love with REST, thanks Bill!

pragmatic web service!, Sep 8 2009
when the book was delivered into my hands, I first though: 'WTH?? such a thin book?' Only then after reading through the chapters did I realize that web service aint that hard after all. This book is very good at an introductory and intermediate level and covers the latest JAX-WS library. All in all, worth a buy.

Very practical book, Sep 8 2009
This book covers practical problems that occur during the course of struts development. The solutions are written in a very clear and concise manner. The 'cookbook' approach makes the solutions to specialized problems more easy. All in all, its totally worth a buy for every architect or struts developer. Caveat, this book is not for learning struts at a novice level. Knowledge of basic struts control flow will help before picking up this book.

good enough, but some stuff outdated, July 26 2009
Its a very good book, very practical and gives a clear cut explanation to some of the tricky concepts of web services. Problem is some of the JAX API's explained are a bit outdated now...could have been better if they included a short section on JAX-WS.

good book on threads, but not for beginners, Aug 16 2008
I find the material very pragmatic and upto the point. But the book shouldnt be used by starting java programmers.

Isnt there any option for "zero" star to rate a book?, Sep 14 2007
This book is a piece of sh** in mix colors dissipated by d authors...its one of those books saying "oh im from a good academic env!!..." and all that crap...not 4 ppl who really wanna apply DS in practical programming....code snippets then out of nowhere exercise questions which cannot b comprehended by normal inference from the text....i dnt know wat those 3 morons where trying 2 prove....thank god i bought John Hubbard's book of DS in Java...it does hav some errors in it...but at least it covers everything and gives a sense of satisfaction while reading and going thru d exercise......
