This is perhaps one of the most accurate depictions of life on the streets for millions of homeless, and parentless, children around the world. Vivid. Hard-hitting. Certainly not for the weak of stomach. Pixote tells the straight story of a young child's search for "familia", security and the realization of every child's dream for opportunity...... and of the sex, drugs, loneliness, violence and brutality that he finds instead in the streets. A great learning tool for students, social workers, law enforcement and those in the ministry: you will NEVER view street children the same after watching this. (...)

One Church Many Tribes is a deeply spiritual book that helps "white bread" readers like me to understand some of the greater universalities of our Christian faith. I strongly recommend this book for readers everywhere, and especially for those who live in areas with a Native American population.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 The only gift....., May 9 2003
As a Christian / Catholic missioner, I am frequently called in to counsel bereaved family members and associates of someone who has recently died, and I used to be at a loss as to what to give them.... what to place in their hands.... for when they are once again alone.

The only gift that I give since having discovered "Hello From Heaven!" is a copy of this book. It is warm, compassionate, and crosses virtually all religious lines.

Right now I am at Amazon.com ordering another ten copies for future use.

Like thousands of tourists before me, I recently stood on the Southern Rim of the Grand Canyon, nothing between me and a 3700 ft straight-drop free-fall, and asked our tour guide, "Has anyone ever fallen in there before?" I was afraid he would think I was morbid, and perhaps even call security. Instead, he said he had been asked this question by hundreds of tourists, just like me, standing mere inches from the edge of the world's most impressive canyon.

As we left the canyon that day, he suggested we stop by the Visitors' Center and buy "Over The Edge".

Over The Edge is a fascinating, gripping, and straight-forward account of every known death to have occured in the Grand Canyon, be it from suicide, murder, freak accidents, or boating trips gone wrong. Many of the factual details, and background histories that lead up to the actual moment of death, read like a cross between a police docket, and a John Grisham novel. The occasional sardonic humor in Over The Edge is an added plus.

Do yourself a big favor! Read Over The Edge!
