First of all, I would like to start off by saying that the point of a book is not to teach a class on history - it is to provide a fun and interesting story. This book is overwhelmed with historical, geographical, scientific, and linguistic information, so it's no surprise that a little of it is messed up. Still, I found this an incredibly good STORY, regardless of whatever facts may have been incorrectly presented.

If you're looking for a good book, and not just something to help you brush up for your history exam, then I would recommend this novel.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 It's the Climax!, July 7 2004
This DVD contains the last two episodes of the ridiculously hilarious show FLCL.

In the first of these two, Brittle Bullet, we see more action with General Amarao, who first appeared last episode. For those of you not too great with names, that's the guy with red hair and huge dark green eyebrows which occasionally fall off. His confrontation with Haruko is just one of the things to look forward to in this episode. The others include Kitsurabami (his assistant) getting a crush on Canti, Naota going off the deep end a little, a huge fake gun fight, a a giant gunslinging robot that comes out of Naota's head and starts shooting a 100-ft. long shotgun at Haruko, who's wearing a ridiculous bunnygirl suit and toting a slingshot.

The second episode is FLCLimax, and it is indeed the climax. In this one, everything that has been growing throughout the series will come out to create a truly insane sequence. At its core (very, very deep) FLCL is a love story about Haruko and Naota, and we finally see the resolution of that in this episode. I'm not going to tell you how it ends, but I'll leave on word: Atomsk. Oh, and did I mention another Manga sequence?

Ultimately, while this series is constantly bizarre and often innappropriate, I still find it one of the most hilarious and wonderful series I have ever seen. Perhaps this is because it transcends everything else I have ever seen, becoming something that does not really fit into any category. Whatever it is, it is a great show, one not to be missed.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Most Frightening Story Ever!, May 8 2004
Shirley Jackson is truly a master of the human mind. Her stories, including this one, are not just about these strange and horrible things that happen to people, but even more about their minds and the ways that they react to the people around them. In one sense you can see the end of this story coming for a while, but it's still a shock when you reach it.

I've already read every book Stephen King has written, so I was looking for a good horror novel. After reading some of the reviews here, I spent all day hunting for this book, moving from bookstore to bookstore, and when I eventually found this, I started reading, about mid-afternoon. I was caught up with it and couldn't put it down, not even to eat, until two o'clock the next morning. Now it may have just been because I was reading it in the middle of the night, but for me this book is more frightening than any story I've ever read before. There is a strange emotional tapestry among the ghosthunters in this building, but withing the growing unease, there are absolutely terrifying scenes that creep up on you and shock you. What happens to Eleanor over the course of the book makes you shiver. Now, I haven't read Matherson's 'Hell House', but I would say that this is the most frightening story ever.

Journeys end in lovers meeting...

I have already the Arkham book, with plans to soon purchase HP Lovecraft's Dunwich, but I have to say I absolutely love HP Lovecraft's Kingsport. It is fll of interesting descriptions, characters, and adventures, as well as a facinating cult that could easily center in a campaign. If there is one thing I do find annoying about this book, it is its size (not very large), but it was still easily worth my money. And one complement I have to give it is that it has finally found a way to drive away those omnipresent ghouls.
All in all, it is a very good book, that portrays a very creepy little town, with enough horror in it to drive more than one investigator mad...

This book is a great addition to any CoC collection. Not only does it provide tons of information on the people, politics, and customs of the Bermuda triangle and surrounding areas, but it is loaded with useful creatures, ideas, theories, etc. It has many charts that all keepers should find useful, such as one that randomnly chooses a sea animal. And, to top it all off, it comes with a scenario that I cant wait to throw on my investigators. It is well worth the cost, and then some!
