I stop reading about 1/2 way through the book. I believe this is a good read for those who like complex plots, numerous characters, many angles to the plot going on at once, etc. Call me "simple minded" but I could not keep up with what was going on. Maybe if I had read the book in longer sittings, I may have been able to follow the story better. I have a tendency to read in short sittings, gathering just a small amount of information at the time.

Gillian and Melina Lloyd are a pair of identical Dallas twins who switch places with each other.Gillian switches places with her twin, a media escort, and chauffeurs sexy astronaut, Chief Hart, around town. Suspicion falls on Chief Hart when Gillian's mutilated body is found the next day.
Gillian's cocky boyfriend, Jem Hennings, has a vested interest in focusing police efforts on Hart, but Melina has her own reasons for thinking him wrong. Jem's connection with a charismatic preacher known as Brother Gabriel is at the heart of this mystery, in which Melina tracks Brother Gabriel to his lair and uncovers his diabolical plot while simultaneously revealing her own dark secret. The ending has some really good parts, including some sex scenes that are better than most of romantic thrillers of this sort.
This is definitely a book typical of Brown's writings.I recommend it to anyone who likes a good mystery.

I agree with some of the other comments made about this book. There wasn't very much intrigue and "nail-biting" events in the story. MHC usually writes books that keep you on the edge of your seat. This book has some of that but not enough.
I enjoyed the book but it wasn't quite enough for me.

This book has received more reviews than I can count. Therefore, all I will say about the book is READ IT! It is a very good read that shows the pain involved in racism and hatred.

3.0 étoiles sur 5 A Boring Book, June 16 2002
I am not an expert but I thought the authors did not develope all the characters as much as they should. I realize the jest of the book was to tell about the life styles of the wealthy and the lives their children live. But I would like to know more about what happened between Nanny and H.H. I would also like to know what happened between Ms. Chicago and Mr.X.
I found the book to be terribly boring.I wanted Nanny to tell Mr. and Ms.X where to get off. I was disgusted with her for allowing them to use her the way they did. I disliked both of the parents immensely. Neither of them deserved to have a child in the first place.I would like more invents told in the book about the things that happened between Nanny and the Xs. The authors kept repeating basically the same thing.

I enjoyed reading the book all the way through. A young boy is left to take care of his 3 younger sisters. They came from an unhappy home where the mother finally kills the father and she is sent to prison.
Books that touch the emotions are my favorite and this one does that very well. It is a great story and you will love it.

It is a good short love story I enjoyed reading very much.
