i am not a rap fan. i listen to mainly rock music. eminem is the only rapper i will make an exception for. honestly, i was brought up not to like him, but i always have anyway. i didnt really get into him until last summer, though. i got this cd for my birthday from my brother, and i love him for it. we're both eminem fans. my rents almost took it away from me after all the cussing, but i talked them out of it. i'm gonna cut the ...now, and just give you a rating of each song in my opinion:

1.curtains up-this is just an intro, no need to rate it.
2.white america-sweet song. 5/5
3.business-pretty cool. 4/5
4.cleanin out my closet-2nd single. awesome song and video.5/5
5.square dance-possibly my fav song on cd. i just love it. 5/5
6.the kiss-another skit. he goes a little overobard on the cussing, but whatever. thats eminem.
7.soldier-first time i heard it, i hated it. it grew on me a lot, tho 4.5/5
8.say goodbye hollywood-cool. 5/5
9.drips-ok, i do not like this one. i always skip it. 1/5
10.without me-first single. whats not to like? 5/5

12.sing for the moment-another awesome song. 5/5
13.superman-this is em's newest single that just came out as of the time of this review. 5/5
14.hailies song-great song to his daughter. sings in this one. 5/5

overall, an awesome cd that definetly is worth your money!! 5 star material, no questions asked. eminem is controversy, and i know some people hate him for it, but i love him. hes real, hes no fake, regardless of what some of you say. he is a cool guy whose songs have meaning and has some great lyrics, which can especially be shown in sing for the moment. this cd is much better than its predecessor, marshall mathers lp, which is average. i dont yet have his first cd, so i cant compare to that one. anyway, i highly recommend this cd, even if you're not really into rap.

this is more like 4.5 stars. i dont care if this is a nu-metal band or whatever. these guys arent even metal. they are, however, rock. i was already sort of into rock, but this is the cd that really got me into rock. and now i listen to punk, rock, and metal. they saved me from all the other awful crap. i have my brother's best friend to thank for introducing this to me. we were all on a ski trip, and he played this in the car. my bro had mentioned these guys before, and i had heard them before and thought that they were okay. when my brother's friend played them, i thought it was good, but it was heavier than what i normally listened to. after a few listens through to it, i realized i loved it, and immeaditely stole my bro's copy, and it didnt leave my cd player for months, until i accidentally lost it. i got the reanimation cd then. i drove all my friends insane talking about them. i then got this cd again for christmas, which i was happy about. i dont like these guys quite as much as i used to, but i still love 'em. heres a quick rating of each song-
1.papercut- this is a great song about paranoia, and is a cool video. 5/5
2.one step closer- kinda weird video, but awesome, and a cool song, too. 5/5
3.with you- one of my least fav, but still great. 4/5
4.points of authority- this is a good song, but i dont understand why it gets quite so much hype from people. 4.5/5
5.crawling- cool video, good song. 5/5
6.runaway- good. 4.5/5
7.by myself- another cool one. 4.5/5

8.in the end- way too overplayed, but it has a cool video. 4/5
9.a place for my head- awesome! one of my favs. 5/5
10.forgotten- another great song- 4.5/5
11.cure for the itch- just mr. hahn deejaying, but still cool. 4/5
12.pushing me away- this was one of the first songs that i loved by then, but i got kinda sick of it. 4/5
overall, an excellent cd which you should check out, if u like rap-rock. i cant wait for their next cd, which is due sumtime in march 2003. rock on, guys!
