This game has it's flaws but it's far from bad titles like RE: Gaiden, April 7 2012

One of the problems I had with this game is that it felt rushed, your friendly AI is laughable at best and it can quickly get on your nerves. The enemy's take way to much damage, I can see how this might be a way to tense up the game maybe trying to be a metaphor for being in danger but frankly it just makes you mad. For example if you are like me and get special edition and use the "Anti Materiel rifle" some enemy's can take up to three clips to kill them on normal, that is ridiculous and plain just unfair. The enemy AI when it's not being dumb can be incredibly unfair, like having four enemy's trap you in a corner knocking you down every single time you try to get up until you are dead it makes your blood boil.
The cover system has been getting quite a bad rap but I have to say I really like it, it's tight it doesn't cling onto everything you walk by and it's quite responsive. The level design isn't ground breaking but some levels do look quite nice, certain areas also pay homage to RE2 and 3 have quite a nice nostalgic effect. The atmosphere of this game is aided by it's environments, it can be creepy and dark then turn into a frantic action packed battle.
With all of the talk about friendly AI being quite terrible the game isn't centered on it's single player it's focused on it's multiplayer which is some of the best for an RE game I've ever seen. There are quite a few different modes including Biohazard mode, team attack mode, survivor mode, heroes mode and of course doing the traditional campaign online with friends or a online assembled squad.
Biohazard mode is a capture-the-flag variant in which two teams compete to retrieve a glowing purple vial and return it to their base. Vials spawn in one of several central locations. CPlayers win when their team returns five vials. Team attack mode resembles traditional team deathmatch in that two teams representing Spec Ops and U.S.S. compete for kills in a timed match. Team Attack also uses a point based system in which monster kills and enemy player kills earn a set amount of points, witch a larger point distribution for the latter. Survivor mode is a unique game mode in which two teams battle for seats on the last helicopter out of an infected zone. Killing opponents lengthens their respawn time, giving players a better opportunity to safely board the helicopter when it arrives. While players work in teams, individuals only win if they successfully board one of four seats on the helicopter. And lastly there is heroes mode where you get to choose between two teams of everyone favorite Resident evil characters. The roster for this mode is Hunk(RE2), Nicholai Zinoviev(RE3:Nemesis), Ada Wong (RE2) and the new character Lone Wolf for the U.S.S. The second team titled "SpecOps" includes Leon S. Kennedy (RE2), Claire Refield (RE2), Jill Valentine (RE3: Nemesis) and Carlos Oliveira.
If that isn't enough for you Slant 6 is releasing a free DLC with a all knew campaign for the game where you get to play as the SpecOps team Echo Six.
I haven't touched on all of the pros and cons for this game but it's been getting quite a lot of undeserved hate and bad review which have seemed quite biased and unwarranted. This game is not going to win any awards, it's not going to be GOTY but it succeeds at being a fun online multiplayer game with lots to experience and tons of content packed into it. I'm giving this game 8.3 out of 10.
