Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I looked around A LOT for a netbook that fits all my needs and criteria. I had my heart set on the ASUS 1025C, until I discovered that you CANNOT upgrade the RAM which is a huge deal-breaker. After researching some more I thankfully came across the HP 110-4100CA. It doesn't come with a HDMI port but honestly I don't think I would use it too often anyway with so many other options to connect and play media these days. The keyboard turned out to have a small left shift key and a tall and skinny enter key instead of the regular US keyboard. Not to worry though, it only takes a couple hours to get used to trust me (I'm typing my review on it right now). The matte screen is nice since it doesn't reflect light and I can comfortably use it outside or in direct sunlight. I know there is mixed information about upgrading this thing so let me make things easier... The whole bottom panel of this netbook comes off to expose the RAM slot, hard drive, and wireless card. All of these things can easily be replaced if desired, but if you intend to replace the hard drive make sure it is small enough to fit (2.5" hard drive dimensions may differ). I upgraded the RAM to 2GB with a DDR3 2GB Corsair stick (CMSO2GX3M1A1333C9) and had no problems whatsoever. There is a big performance boost compared to only 1GB, and is an essential upgrade (you will use all 1GB of memory with only a few internet tabs). Also, just so you know, Windows 7 Starter will accept and utilize 2GB of memory with no problems (no need to upgrade OS if you don't want to. I didn't). If you do upgrade operating systems, make sure it is 32 bit, NOT 64 bit because HP only supplies 32 bit drivers for this machine (you cannot use a 32 bit driver on a 64 bit OS and vice versa). The netbook fan is set to always on when you get it, but you can change this in the BIOS menu. If you do change it, the fan will only turn on when it needs to. The fan is not loud, but it might save a little battery power. The battery life is impressive as advertised, I only charge it once every few days and I use it regularly.

I hope this review helps, I know when I was researching about this netbook there were a lot of questions I had to dig for answers or go without. If you decide to buy this netbook I think you'll be very happy with it as I am.
