3.0 étoiles sur 5 Pretty good ... better than part 4 or 5..., Oct. 14 2002
This review is from: Hellraiser: Hellseeker (DVD)
I was suprised by this movie. While it is far from great, it is an enjoyable little horror flick. There is enough gore to please fans of the original (no skinless people, but plenty of other goodies). Plus the hero from the first two movies is brought back, and although people may think at first that it was a cheap shot to have her in the film (a majority of her scenes are short flashbacks), but the ending makes up for that. I actually enjoyed this a little more than the original (to be honest Hellraiser was a mediocre film to begin with). A good rental, and a deffinate by for fans (Pinhead actually is in this movie more than the original and WAY more than the film before this.)

5.0 étoiles sur 5 "Return of the Living Dead" Hong Kong style, July 29 2002
This review is from: Bio Zombie (DVD)
This film was awsome. Everything about it worked out great. All the characters where fleshed out well enough, and there was enough action and plot movement to keep me interested. This is also alot like one of my favorite movies "Return of the Living Dead." While the story is diffrent the pacing is nearly identicle. The movie starts out as a spoof, but as things move along things become more and more serious, and then when characters start dieing, the comedy all but disappears. Very well crafted and thought out. Plus the dubbing is pretty good! All the actors actually try (plus Wendee Lee does the voice of Rolls so I am automatically happy with the dub).

I was suprised by this movie. Most of the exposure that I have had to Zelman King was through Red Shoe Diaries, so because of that I was expecting mostly mild titalation with some decent excuse for a plot. What I found in this film was something I never expected. Instead of sex and steamy dialogue (which there is some) you are instead given a somewhat confusing, yet suprisingly interesting plot. Most of the actors do really well with their parts (although at times two of the actresses totally bomb off the screen). I would recomend this to anyone who enjoys pulp type cinema, because this has all the makings of a Jackie Collins novel.
*Although not rated this would probably get an R rating.

3.0 étoiles sur 5 Do You Have Any Wirgins?, July 10 2002
Some people may ask about the title of this review, and all I have to say is, watch the movie. Everything campy and cheesy is present here, including completely hammed up accents. While "Flesh For Frankenstien" felt more like a horror movie, this film comes off as something of a soft core porn romp with a character who only slightly resembles Dracula. Instead of the pure Mina we are given incestuos bi-sexual sisters. Instead of a noble Dracula, you get a whinny, sickly Dracula. And instead of the usual dashing hero you get a rapist with a thick Brooklyn accent. And on the subject of our hero. I have never wanted to kill the hero in any movie more than this guy. The actor, who appears to be a pet of Warhol's, does a decent job (he actually was much better in Flesh for Frankenstein) but is character is disgusting. He forces himself on at least three girls in the whole movie (numours times, as well as one being a 14 year old).
If it wasn't for the hero of the story I would have given this movie four stars, but as it is, well, it falls flat and to be honest, at times becomes nothing but a cheap 70's porn flick. I would suggest Flesh For Frankenstien over this one any day.

3.0 étoiles sur 5 Starts out strong but quickly falls apart, June 15 2002
I have to say that I enjoyed a good portion of the movie, namely the first half, but once everyone gets stuck in the church, well, things collapse faster than the old builing itself. What made this movie strong in the begining was that it didn't try to focus on to many characters. But then we are introduced to everyone who is caught in the church. Soon characters just vanish from the plot all together, and then re-appear later, and then vanish again. And what happened to all the children? There where like at least ten kids, and they all happen to magically vanish! Plus, it is very hard to tell how people become transformed into demons in this film. Some are scratched (as it was in Demons1), but some just magically change (like say the old woman). The main fault of this film is that it doesn't commit to anything. It throws all these things together, and only follows through on some of them. So, yes, while the first half is quite good, and well written, the last half is nothing but pointless gore, sex, and an attempt at sounding sophisticated. So rent it first before you commit to buying it.
(* and any anime fans listen for the voice of Wendee Lee as one of the main female characters)
