See our Corrections page.

How do I promote my titles on Amazon.ca?

It's up to you--the author or publisher--to make your books stand out on our virtual shelves. You have the opportunity to hand-sell your titles personally to customers and persuade them to purchase. The following are the most important pieces of information you can add to your book's product information page:

Cover Art: We've found that showing a picture of a title's cover on its Amazon.ca page is its most influential selling point.

Description: A compelling description of the title can be a great hook. Describing where a book falls in an author's career and providing excerpts help customers make purchase decisions. It's important to give customers a reason to buy a book.

Author Comments: Readers love to hear what authors have to say.

Others' Reviews: Customers want to know what others are saying about your book. If the critics are raving, let potential customers know!

The best way to send us your descriptive content is via Vendor Central. For information on how to add cover and interior images, please review our Add Product Images page.

What is content?

Content refers to the information on an Amazon.ca product detail page beyond the basic bibliographic information such as title, author, publisher, page count, binding, price, etc. As a publisher or author, you have the opportunity to hand-sell your book to customers by adding content such as cover art, a compelling description, an intriguing excerpt, and rave reviews. For more information, please see the Catalogue Guide.

Do you screen the reviews used on your site from publishers, customers, authors, or other sources?

Our intention is to make the customer/author review forum a place for commentary and feedback. We remove comments that are deemed by Amazon to be profane or spurious, when they are brought to our attention. If you notice that the information posted with your title is wrong, or if you'd like to have something added or changed, please contact Customer Service.

How do you handle Canadian rights issues?

Please contact us if you believe we're selling a title that infringes on Canadian copyright. We will review it for removal from the site. Please send us a notification about these titles via Vendor Central.
