Multiple Title Submission
The Format: How to Prepare Descriptive Content for Your Video or DVD
Each data document must begin with your contact information. This includes the studio name, contact name, e-mail address, postal address, and telephone number. We use this information to verify submitter identity and require it so we can contact you if necessary. Files that don't contain this information won't be processed. By submitting content, you agree to the terms and conditions of the License Grant.
- Begin each information field with the all-uppercase text label (tag). For example, below, the word "UPC" is the tag, and the tag plus the information following it (the actual UPC number) make up the complete information field.
- Follow each tag with a colon and single character space.
- Follow each information field with a single hard return (press the Return or Enter key).
- To insert paragraph breaks for lengthy information, press the Return or Enter key twice at the end of the paragraph, to insert a line space.
- Close each title record with the word END on a line by itself, typed in all uppercase, with no colon. Press the Return or Enter key twice to insert a line space at the end of the record.
Here are the different information fields you can add. Please note that you're required to provide information for the first three fields (UPC, TITLE, and STUDIO), so we can identify the video(s) or DVD(s) to which this information applies.
- UPC: (Required)
- TITLE: (Required)
- STUDIO: (Required) You may add production groups, studios, or distribution companies in this field.
- DESCRIPTION: Up to 1,000 words.

- ACTORBIO: Up to 1,000 words. Please note that multiple actor biographies can be entered here. Mark new paragraphs by leaving a blank line.
- DIRECTORBIO: Up to 1,000 words.
- ACTORCOMMENTS: Up to 1,000 words.
- DIRECTORCOMMENTS: Up to 1,000 words.
- BACKCOVER: Up to 1,000 words. This field contains copy from the back cover of the video or DVD.
- CREDITS: List each item of the credits on a line by itself. Please remove leader dots and other typographic elements.
- END: (Required) Please type this word in all uppercase, with no colon, on a line by itself at the end of each title record. Press the Return or Enter key twice to create a line space between this and the next record. You may include as many records as you like in a single file.
Examples
- UPC: 085391268222
- TITLE: Blade Runner/Director's Cut/DVD
- STUDIO: Warner Brothers Home Video
- DESCRIPTION: Deckard is a "blade runner," a policeman of the future who hunts down and terminates replicants (artificially created humans). He wants to get out of the force, but is drawn back in when five "skin jobs"--slang for replicants--hijack a ship back to Earth. The city in which Deckard must search for his prey is a huge, sprawling, bleak vision of the future. This film redefines what it is to be human, and why life is so precious.

Saving Your Text Information
Please save together in a single file the information for all the titles you're submitting. Saving your file in text-only (ASCII) format is easy. All standard word processing software gives you this option when you save your document. In Word, this is called the Save as Type option. Please name your file with the name of the studio, date of submission, and .txt extension (for example, MCA-980601.txt or Paramount-020910.txt). Don't overlook cover art and interior art when you're preparing your materials. We encourage you to include image files along with your descriptive-content submission.
Sending Us Your Information
All data documents in the above format must contain contact information and be submitted via FTP (File Transfer Protocol). Read more about FTP details in the Catalogue Guide.
