I'll keep this short. I had high expectations for this film. I expected some "artistic license" to be used (and it was). The whole subject of the story of Noah is deep. This film really brings the human element to the story of the "great flood." My only real disappointment was the Watchers. They were too much of a cross between Transformers and Treebeard. Having said that, the film was stimulating. I went back and read the Biblical account. I went back and skimmed through the books of Enoch. I even picked up the "official novelization" of the film. Sex Power (Vinyl) ~ Vangelis
It would be great if Vangelis did a big re-issue campaign for some of his early works. Unfortunately, that hasn't happened yet. This release is apparently an "unofficial" re-issue. After three listens, this album is really starting to sound great. As a huge Fleet Foxes fan, I knew it would be difficult to follow up the huge success of their first LP and EP. Fortunately, the Fleet Foxes have done a recording that is neither a copy of their earlier material (I don't like artists who repeat themselves) - nor is it so left-field in direction as to alienate any fans of the early releases.
I gave this 4/5 (it just didn't have the immediacy of the first album). The first album hooked me after 30 seconds, this album took about three good listens. After my initial listen I felt the album lacked the strong vocal hooks of say "White Winter Hymnal" etc. With repeated… Read more
