10 000 Shots ~ Real Mckenzies
10 000 Shots ~ Real Mckenzies
5.0 out of 5 stars this band ROCKS, Jan. 20 2012
I missed my opportunity to jump on TRM bandwagon years back when they (for reasons unknown) had to back out of a concert I had tickets to...otherwise I would probably own every album by now. I've heard the odd single on compilation cds or satellite radio and finally decided to pick up an album when I had a gift card to burn up. I chose 10,000 Shots because I had heard "Smokin' Bowl" and liked it - I find the mix of Scottish traditional lyrics & punk rock pace (with plenty o' bagpipes) very catchy & appealing. I was not disappointed. In fact, I LOVE this album and practically wore it out by playing it so much during the first week or two after I got it. There's not a weak track on the album,… Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Best reference I know of, Jan. 20 2012
Years ago I picked up the ultimate guide to Kauai and have since bought more recent editions. My first trip to Maui is coming up and I was pleased to see that the author has written an equivalent guide to Maui (and other main Hawaiian islands). For the general / active tourist, it's a great book. TONS of information and ratings that are not subject to influence or advertisement. These are the best Hawaii guidebooks that I've found (through years of searching) and I wouldn't dream of visiting the islands without first going over the appropriate book in thie series. This one is a recent edition. I expect it to be extremely useful when I visit Maui next month. Only reason I give 4 rather an 5… Read more
Pingu 4 Pack

5.0 out of 5 stars best deal on Pingu, Jan. 20 2012
My kids (& I) have enjoyed Pingu for a number of years. I had bought the various dvds when I could find them (Meet Pingu, Chillin' with Pingu, Pingu on thin ice) but occasionally saw episodes on tv that we didn't have. I got this collection mainly to get the South Pole adventures, but don't regret getting 'doubles' of the earlier dvds (my youngest daughter is pretty hard on dvds). Bottom line - if you like Pingu, this is the closest thing to a complete set that I've found anywhere. Price is reasonable and quality is excellent. Buy it.
