In Alabama, where I live, during spring and summer mornings you can hear among the joyful, cacaphonous voices of the songbirds the low, melancholy call of the mourning dove. This probably isn't the best comparison, since you have to know bird calls for it to mean anything, but if a mourning dove ever made a record, it would sound like Nick Drake

Admittedly, my first encounter with Nick Drake was through the infamous VW ad. This music is without a shadow of a doubt some of the best stuff i have ever heard. Dave Matthews Band is probably the only modern band that will ever be remebered as truly great. matthews is a true musician who knows how to write music and make it sound good. he is nothing short of a creative genious. his fusion of rock, swing, jazz, and folk among other things is truly remarkable. im a huge fan of bands like led zeppelin, pink floyd, and the greatful dead. it used to be that you had to have talent and a real feel for music to make it in the music world. now we've got bands like blink 182 and nsync with multiple cd's selling in the millions. dave matthews is the only band i… Read more
