Product Description

The iP11 is a bare-bones iPod dock and alarm clock with a refined feature set. Wake or sleep to your favorite iPhone/iPod tunes with great fidelity in a small package, instantly sync the time to your iPhone/iPod, plug in an external device such as an MP3 player, and get up and go with a fully charged iPod.

Universal iPod Dock
Listen to your favorite iPod content from most docking iPod models. The iP11 charges your iPod while you enjoy it, so it's always ready to go when you are.

Wake or Sleep to iPod
Start or end your day with your favorite music from a docked iPod. The "gentle waking" feature gradually fades in the alarm, so it doesn't jar you out of sleep, and a buzzer alarm will sound if no iPod is docked.

In addition, if there is a power outage or the iP11 is accidentally unplugged, you'll still make your appointments--just install a backup battery and you're set.

Sleep and Snooze Functions
No alarm clock is complete without these two features. Snooze lets you stop the alarm for another few minutes of precious sleep, in nine minute increments.

Sleep mode lets you drift off to your favorite iPod music. You can adjust the sleep timer from 90, 60, 30 or 15 minutes, and since it features an independent volume it won't affect your alarm volume the next morning. And like the alarm, you get no abrupt surprises--it fades out slowly so you can keep snoring.

Time Sync
The iP11 Time Sync feature allows you to sync the time setting on the iP11 to the time from your iPhone or recent model iPod (iPod Touch, iPod Nano and iPod Classic--older iPod models such as iPod mini do not support this feature). No need to sit and press that minute button forever.

Speaking of time, you can display it in 12 or 24 hour format, and a convenient Daylight Savings Time switch lets you instantly offset it by an hour.

Quality Sound
The iP11 delivers great sound with a single high-fidelity neodymium micro driver in a specially designed Reson8 speaker chamber. Reson8 is iHome's through-body ported speaker chamber technology. Porting speakers gives better bass response characteristics, and helps the iP41 deliver sound beyond its size.

EXB sound enhancement provides expanded bass circuitry for a little low-end boost.

Line-in Jack
A rear auxiliary input lets you connect and listen to any audio source, such as MP3 or CD players, for playing through the iP11's speaker.

What's in the Box
iP11 Main Unit, AC Adapter (Universal Voltage), Three iPod Inserts, User's Manual

like the style
clock face is very bright, however, if you hit the snooze button it activates a 'dimming' effect... found this out by accident
alarm went off perfectly... however, you must have your iphone volume down not just on the alarm clock itself, because it will increase in volume & make you think it's possessed!
I would also like a 'radio' feature' to it, but it's not here :(

I'm very satisfied with this Iphone alarm clock, does it's job reliably and sound quality, although not being the best, is pretty decent considering the low price paid.

Great Value April 6 2011

Most of the criticisms I see here are because a lack of features, IMHO they're fair enough for the money. Others complain because it's not 100% seamlessly integrated with the iPod but that's unrealistic as it probably will never be. I use mine to play white noise while sleeping and I also use the alarm. You can use either an alarm on the iPod itself or the radio. I have a 8G Nano 3G. I have no complaints about the sound. For my white noise MP3's, I lowered the playback volume so when the alarm sounds, the other songs are louder by default.

What I REALLY like about it are two things: 1) LARGE LCD display I can see without glasses and 2) the LCD back light dims to 0%. You can still see the display, just no bright back light.

FYI: DO NOT leave your iPod permanently attached, it will run down the battery to the point it won't recharge. I just remove mine everyday and set beside the unit.

All in all I like this item, good sound and small footprint. Oh, there's also a input jack for other devices. Sometimes I watch videos on my iPod touch and I use it for amplification.

I like this product and it's money well spent.

works as expected Dec 29 2010
By S. Meyer - Published on
My primary reason for this purchase was to charge my phone on a dock with a basic alarm clock.

I wasn't expecting a whole lot out of the sound other than the ability to play music. I don't understand why some people expect this device to have spectacular sound when it is clearly a tiny single speaker. Come on people, this is an alarm clock not a surround sound system. For the size the sound is acceptable.

dimmable display (even down to no backlight) - I consider this a feature because sometimes I don't like the backlight glaring in my face while I'm trying to fall asleep
compact design - probably the smallest alarm clock I've owned
docks with iPhone case - I have a case on my iPhone and don't like when I have to remove the case to dock it
sync time from iPhone - single push of the button in order to pull the clock time from the iPhone

multiple alarms would be nice as I don't always want to wake up at the same time every day
some of the buttons have multiple functions which while this isn't bad for a compact alarm, the separation of some of the functions would make for easier use
the price - it is a bit pricey for an alarm clock but it's definitely not the most expensive in its class

Overall I give it 5 stars because it does everything I'd expect in a bare bones alarm clock with an iPhone/iPod dock.

Works fine, but a couple of complaints March 13 2011
By Pet magnet - Published on
I've been using mine for about 2 months now, with my iPhone4.
PROs: I like the gradual increase in volume for the wake up, and that you can set it in sleep mode at a much lower volume-- the original louder settign is used when the alarm fires.

CONS: The provided adapter for the iPhone won't take an Iphone with teh apple-provided rubber wraparound cover-- the one they give away to combat all the bad press about poor signal strenght if you touch the antenna. It is a real annnoyance to have to take the coger off every time I want to dock the phone-- I'm afraid all that stretching is eventually going to cause my cover to tear/fail.
Also, while the display is dimmable, it is still too bright when on the lowest setting. I wish it had "extra low" to go with the existing "high, medium, low" sort of settings.

The cons stop me from giving it a higher mark. I paid $39 for mine, which is a fair price, I'd say.

good alarm clock Nov. 1 2010

does what it claims to do.. the time actually is saved by the batteries when the power goes out.. The dimmer is very very nice, as my previous alarm clock had an 'auto-dimmer' which stayed on the 'retna-burning' bright mode all night. plays ipod/iphone just fine. not expensive.. what else can you want in an affordable alarm clock?

What I was looking for is what i found. Something small, that charged the ipod, had a dimmer switch and played the music with relatively good quality. I would definitely recommend this product.
