This review is from: Wii Wireless Sensor Bar (Accessory)
I have two older kittens who like to chew things, so the original sensor bar that came with my Wii, unfortunately, was rendered useless by kitten teeth. Instead of getting another Wii sensor, I decided to go wireless and debated between getting this one and another one that provided the same features (good up to 15 feet away, plug-and-play compatibility with my Wii, could be placed anywhere there was a smooth surface). This one takes 4 x AA batteries, while the other one took 6(!) AAs, so I went with this one.It works great and the batteries last for a long time (an average of 75 hours of gameplay per set of batteries, about a month's worth of gaming for me, although your mileage may vary). I've been using rechargeables, which don't seem to last quite as long as alkaline batteries (I got an average of 80-85 hours before I switched to rechargeables), but still adequate. A switch on the bottom allows you to set a timer for your sensor bar use, as well, for one-hour or two-hour switch off, or you can set it so that it's on until you turn it off. I've set the switch for constant on and just make sure I turn the sensor bar off when I'm done with my Wii -- it has an LED light to let you know it's on, and the light fades as the batteries die, so you have a good indicator when it's time to change them. The range is good (not as good as the wired sensor bar), but gets spotty if you get more than 45 degrees off-centre. The only real complaint I have with it is the method of attachment, the suction cups. They're horrible, don't always stick, and the weight of the batteries will cause the sensor bar to tilt forward slightly on the suction cups. I'm pretty sure that this is the main cause of the spottiness when off-centre. I'm planning on cutting the suction cups off and just attaching the bar with double-sided tape, like the normal sensor bar. Other than that, it's a good deal. I'm very happy with it's performance and range, and it doesn't eat batteries like I thought it would (it's not half as power-hungry as the Wiimotes themselves). If you're thinking of going wireless on a budget, I would recommend giving this one a shot.

Wii Wireless Senseless Bar!,

I was suprised that there was no dongle for the Wii side, you just throw your bar on the wall (I used double sided tape) and away you go. Well, not quite. The distance on these things is brutal, you have to be very close (a little over 8 feet is being gracious) so if you have a typical rig where you're not extremely close to the bar, you're going to run into issues.
