I had been trying a long time to get one of these sensor garbage cans, not readily available in Canada, I finally stumbled across one of these here on amazon.ca when they had a great deal on it. I jumped on it right away as it was the only thing I wanted for Christmas and wanted one for the longest time and thought they only came in single compartment models. When I saw this one, I was very impressed by its appearance, dual compartments, and features. Now that I have it, I couldn't be happier. My Son and I are completely thrilled with it as one side takes my garbage while the other side takes my green bin. Have never noticed an odor coming from it and when the lids are closed its almost like a gasket was there to create an air tight seal even though there is not an air tight seal. Very well designed and made! Opted to get the optional AC adapter, works great and got the adapter on sale at a third of the full price. All in all, this is a great product. And I highly recommend it to anyone who is in the market for one.

I am not satisfied with the product because it is not brand new, there are scratch marks over and around the lid. I lost faith in amazon.ca.iTouchless IT16RES 60-Litre Dual-Compartment Stainless Steel Sensor Recycle Bin

We bought this to replace a similar waste bin with an auto open feature but this one is much better because of the dual compartments. Instead of hanging a plastic bag on a drawer handle to collect recyclables in the kitchen, we now have an attractive, clean and neat alternative. We put kitchen garbage on the other side. Another plus is that the garbage bag is below the rim--nothing sticks out so the dogs can't get into it or pull the bag out until it tips over. We are very pleased

Purchased two of these trash cans and during the first 6 months product worked OK. However, after about 7 months the automatic lid opening and closing stopped working. Called iTouchless for repair or return service. Was told customer is responsible for shipping and other costs in returning the product. Item is large so customer needs to search and pay for an appropriate size shipping container or carton. Costs could exceed $25.00 but manufacture itouchless doesn't care. In addition received an email of specific instructions on how to disassemble the trash cans from the lid and packing the lid only for shipment. If instructions are not followed exactly, itcouchless issued dire warning that it will charge customer for all costs. In addition, customer has only 14 days to return the item from the date itouchless authorizes the return. If itouchless does not receive the product in 14 days it will return it and charge customer for the return shipping costs. This does not mean in any way that the customer will get back a repaired item or replacement. You will just get back your non-working product and pay for the shipping to add insult to injury. Warning. I would not purchase anything from a seller that has such an absurb, hassle-full and costly return policy. I would rate this seller as zero or in the negative if Amazon had this rating, giving it a 1 star is WAY WAY TOO KIND FOR THIS KIND OF SELLER.I sent emails to management of itouchless asking for leniency in this rigid return policy, citing that I had purchased two of these costly items but to no avail. itouchless stuck to its guns and issued more rigid return instructions and dire warnings of costs they will charge if instructions not followed RIGIDLY AND TO THE LETTER! I have decided that repair or replacement is just not worth the stress and hassle of following these inflexible rules and will just shop around for a competitive product and more rational seller who realizes the importance of a happy satisfied customer. 6 of 6 people found the following review helpful

Good idea, but cheaply made,

The dual-compartment trash can is a great idea. Its nice to be able to put garbage in one side and recyclables in the other. The problem with this particular model is that it is VERY CHEAPLY MADE. For the price, I was expecting something heavy duty. It is flimsy and thin, not far from pressed aluminum foil. The "itouchless" sticker on the top was already peeling off when I opened it. And if you look at the can from a few feet away, you can see dents all around. The plastic lids are also thin and cheap. Mine is brand new. I don't even want to imagine what it will look like after a month or two of actual use. I used to own the very large single trash can(almost industrial, I think it was 64 gallons?). I loved it! The automatic sensor stopped working after a year, but during that year is was great. That one was heavy duty. If I had room for two of those I would probably go back. The rest of them are definitely NOT WORTH THE MONEY.
