5.0 out of 5 stars Grand-daddy of all coin magic books, Jul 15 2004
This book is older than Joan Rivers but has aged much more gracefully. Slieght of hand coin magic just really doesn't change over time and this is the motherload for learning coin magic. If this is a side of magic that interests you than do yourself a favor, read and learn. You can learn these tricks just from this book because of the excellent drawings but it will take practice like any skill.

4.0 out of 5 stars Incredible resource, April 14 2004

This book contains page after page of techniques and tricks. As the other reviews have pointed out, it is outstanding and sets the standard for books on coin magic. The only negatives are the quaint chapters on sleeving and cuffing, which date the book. However, I have found gem after gem while combing through the pages. The price definitely makes this essential.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good book, Mar 16 2004
By M. P. Schiesl (Kenosha, WI United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
As others have said, this is a well-rounded book with a pretty cheap price. While it's pretty old, most of the sleights and a few of the routines are still popular today.

It's sort of hard to understand how an effect should look when going through magic books, so you may not appreciate some of the sleights and routines in this book unless you see them in action by a professional (like in the David Roth videos or elsewhere).

Better classic palming technique is explained on coinvanish.com (Bobo's method makes your hand looked cramped), but otherwise this book is pretty good if you want to take the time to step through some of the fundamental sleights and routines for coins. Experiment and make improvements, try the effects with jumbo coins, etc.
