Turn Up Your Financial Thermostat,

This review is from: Secrets Of The Millionaire Mind (Hardcover)
Amazing analysis of the way our minds work, and how we take ourselves out of the running to experience success, wealth, and most importantly happiness. He literally gets to the "roots" of the problem. Eker not only digs deep to show us why we're having problems, but he gives us an easy-to-follow formula for changing the way we think and do things. In his opinion "how we do anything is how we do everything". He points out that we don't need to wait until we have more money before we start managing it, but that by managing the money we have we'll soon have more. I've been doing the exercises he suggests, and executed the easy money management plan he describes, and I've noticed an incredible difference already! Best of all, his holistic way of looking at things acknowledges there's more to our lives than physical wealth, and we must experience spiritual richness as well. This book is not only about enriching our own lives in every sense of the word, but also about enriching the lives of those around us. I can't wait to take his courses!

If you are thinking about buying this book, then you obviously would like to be a millionaire.Do you actually like millionaires and respect what they have achieved, or do you resent them for what they have, or think rich people are bad? If you resent them then you may have have a poor person's attitude to wealth, and think that by becoming wealthy you may turn into that very thing you despise, and accordingly sabotage yourself subconsciously. Make no mistake, this is a very good book, with proven formulas that work. For example, thoughts, feeling, actions = results. Rich people focus on opportunities, poor people focus on obstacles. As you read this book, you will discover many interesting insights into how to become wealthy. You will also discover the mindsets of rich people compared to poor people. It is very illuminating to see the connection between how people think and how they do. For example, I have a friend who is quite spiritual, yet his attitude towards money is if I win the lottery, I would give most of it away, as I would feel guilty having all that money. What a limiting belief to have. If you're like me then reading through the contrasting mindsets of rich people and poor people will be most illuminating. For exmaple when I read that 'poor people focus on problems, rich people focus on opportunities, I totally changed my mindset, it has become my mantra, and using it has enabled me to look beyond the problem which may or may not be real, and to go for the opportunity. I also highly recommend Think and grow rich by Napoleon Hill, which as far as I am concerned is the ultimate work on this subject. I think you will discover many great ideas in this book, and I hope this was helpful.

Beliefs That May Help Your Financial Progress,

This review is from: Secrets Of The Millionaire Mind (Hardcover)
I decided to read this book after I heard T. Harv Eker speak on a live teleseminar about his book and live course. I was impressed with his speaking style which is good for helping someone shift his or her beliefs. He uses emotions and humor . . . and a fast patter . . . to make it easy to see your views more objectively.I figured that it wouldn't hurt to listen to someone who seems to have a talent for helping change beliefs for three days. I have been to other seminars on similar subjects, such as the one that Tony Robbins used to offer for Mastery University, and have been very disappointed in each case. So my expectations for the book and seminar weren't very high. But the book does seem to be a cut above many of the other "reprogram your assumptions" books to improve your financial situation. What I liked about the book was that Mr. Eker has identified so many different belief systems that can hold someone back from pursuing prosperity. The heart of the book comes in his 17 contrasts between what rich people believe and what poor people believe. The most fundamental is number one: "Rich people believe 'I create my life.' Poor people believe 'Life happens to me.'" That's a pretty standard prescription for self-improvement authors and trainers. One that I hadn't thought about before is "Rich people admire other rich and successful people. Poor people resent rich and successful people." It's pretty hard to work on becoming like someone you resent. That thought caused me to pause. An unexpected point (which I suspect came from Built to Last) is that "Rich people think 'both.' Poor people think 'either/or.'" I thought that perspective was also new and useful in this context. None of the other 15 points were unexpected to me. But perhaps if you are new to the idea that rich people think differently than poor people you will find all of these points to be novel. After all, we each have a different row to hoe in life. The sections are brief and a fast reader can gobble this book down in less than an hour. But you come away feeling comfortable that Mr. Eker will help you cross the chasm to changing your assumptions about life. The book's main weakness is the emphasis on the rich-poor contrast. It would have been more helpful to have a stairway of attitudes beginning with billionaires and working on down through the homeless. A book of that sort could help somewhat people expand their financial perspectives to a higher level better than this book does. Mr. Eker communicates clearly and with credibility. If you are serious about wanting to improve your balance sheet, this book can be a helpful part of the process . . . but think about going to one of those seminars as well. I suspect you'll get far more benefit from the combination than either one alone.

A sales pitch for his seminars!,
By SCurrie "Book Maven 99" (Seattle, WA, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Secrets Of The Millionaire Mind (Hardcover)
Pretty much every chapter in this book goes over a basic principle of why the rich are rich and the poor hate them, and then he suggest that you attend his Millionaire Mind Seminars to solve your problems.A lot of the information here I have read in many other books. It seems every book on success these days contains the Acres of Diamonds speech along with quotes from Robert Allens The One Minute Millionaire and principles from The Millionaire Mind and The Millionaire Next Door by Thomas Stanley. After I had finished reading this book I felt ripped off. I was hoping for answers but what I got was a brochure for a seminar! If you really want to read something good from Mr Eker do a google search for Speedwealth and you will be able to download his free ebook with his best business ideas and concepts.

A new "money mind-set",
By
This review is from: Secrets Of The Millionaire Mind (Hardcover)
Are you friends with your money? Do you love managing money as well as making? If not, and you' would like to change that, this book is for you! T. Harv Eker takes a no-nonsense, no-holds-barred approach to exposing the limiting beliefs people hold around wealth and money. He guides you to challenge old family patterns and outmoded thinking so that you can start creating financial wealth and prosperity. While he does offer some tips and simple structures for basic budgeting, this is not a book about serious financial planning. It's really about coming to terms with your limiting, self-defeating beliefs around cold hard cash. If you''re feeling stuck with money, or experiencing fear around your finances, this is a great book to get you started and on the right track.

Winners-Losers :-),

... how interesting that opinions break down so evenly - like in real life - people who CAN and DO (5 stars) and people who find all kinds of excuses not to (1 star).Ah, yes. Peak Potentials heavily sell their courses in the book and at their seminars. Yes, they are quite pricey. But they are worth every penny you spend on them. For, if you don't learn, you don't grow. If you don't grow, you die... Who else can you learn from if not from people who MADE IT? If you want to become a virtuoso violinist, you will spend money and time practicing with a PROFESSIONAL until you can achieve a certain level of success. So, by analogy, if you want to become a successful businessman, you should learn from a successful ... businessman, isn't it so?... There are millions out there with a business administration degree or even MBA who have no clue how to create a successful profitable business. They were taught by professors who never succeeded as businessmen and obtained all their theories from books. Peak Pontential teaches SUCCESS IN PRACTICE, not in theory. I attended the Millionaire Mind Intensive seminar and it was a very transformational experience. I have talked to people who took other courses and seminars and they give the same feedback: a life-changing experience. Me and my husband are planning to take several courses next year. Harv is a self-starter who became a multi-millionaire and who believes that ANYONE can do it. So, why not learn from him?... Too bad some people see nothing but the 'sales pitch'. They obviously missed the message... I highly recommend both the book and courses/seminars to those who want to eventually become financially independent and achieve a certain level of financial success. For those who just want to get by and pay the bills... don't bother. Harv's system is not for whiners unable to break out of their box.

Good approach,
This review is from: Secrets Of The Millionaire Mind (Hardcover)
I like this approach because it focuses on how millionaires think and what you need to do to change your focus and thinking. A just got finished with another excellent book that I think goes well with this. It's called Stop Working by Rohan Hall which teaches you what to do to become independently wealthy. Both books are must buys for anyone interested in becoming wealthy.

If you want to succeed in life, you have to read this book. I must start by saying I hate reading. Never read much at all. Now that I have completely read this book, I am signed up for the free seminar, and I plan on buying and reading other books of this kind. Especially from T. Harv Eker.My business is booming and the phone is ringing off the hook after reading this and implementing the suggestions in it. It has given me great inspiration and I'm interested in reading now. If you have an open mind, read it and see the results for yourself. Daniel Gauthier, MCP, A+ President TwinBytes Inc.

This book is the real deal!,

This review is from: Secrets Of The Millionaire Mind (Hardcover)
The principles taught in this book get directly to the root cause of why we have so many problems and issues with money. It's not a lack of money that is the problem. It is the way we think about money and the beliefs about money that we picked up from family, school, and culture. The reality is that we are placing the limits and lack on ourselves subconsciously.I can honestly say this is one of those rare books that comes along and changes your life. I HIGHLY recommend you pick this one up. The best part is that the book comes along with 2 free tickets to Harv's 3-day seminar "Millionaire Mind Intensive", which literally blew my mind and changed my outlook on life and money permanantly. And since my perspective changed, my life has changed dramatically. The website provides a recorded teleclass outlining Harv's basic principles, [..] I hope this is helpful. Enjoy! |
