This is my 6 year old's favorite book, so I've probably read it a few hundred times. Luckily, it is a great book and a fun read. The illustrations are absolutely wonderful, and the ending is very sweet. Definitely recommend this book to any girls who like to be fancy!

Fancy Nancy books were recommended to us both by family and by readers of my blog. They are fantastic books to help children develop a more diverse vocabulary. In this the first of the Fancy Nancy Books, Nancy helps her family dress up fancy and they head out for a night on the town. But sometimes things do not go the way you expect. She does teach her family to be fancy, and they do go out, but Nancy has an accident and does not feel very fancy anymore. This is a wonderful little story, in an oversized picture book with fantastic illustrations. The book is as fancy as the person it features.

My little granddaughter went through a phase where less was definitely not more. If one necklace was good, six were better, and she wouldn't leave home without them and her clip-on earrings, bracelets, and more. She just loves Fancy Nancy, and she's glad that her own family is willing to be fancied up too. What I like is the parents' unconditional support of their little girl!
