Read and it see what you think..., Jun 9 2008
This review is from: A Lady Of His Own (Mass Market Paperback)
This book ended up being a pretty good read as it mixed both romance and suspence. There were times throughout the book however that I wished things would just hurry up and happen. Some of the scenes in the book were too drawn out which made it hard to get through at times. Also, I think the ending could have been a little more exciting, but maybe that is just because I usually read murder mysteries and true crime. It is one of those books you just have to start reading to see if you like it.

This is the first Bastion book I have read. I loved it! Penny is sharp and complex Charles is the perfect gentleman, rugged yet kind. The plot grips you and does not let go. The relationship builds naturally and you feel like two people really could come to trust each other that much in two weeks.
The secondary characters are not given short shrift at all. By the end of the book I wanted to meet her odd uncle too.
