This review is from: Confessions Of A Wall Street Analyst: A True Story of Inside Information and Corruption in the Stock Market (Paperback)
A thoroughly enjoyable read describing the crazy times in the late 1990's where anything telecom-related was a ticket to riches for the fortunate few. Of course as we all know, the boom was followed by the inevitable bust...and what a bust it was.Only two criticisms from me. The intense dislike that Mr Reingold has for his rival Jack Grubman('Grubster')became tiresome at times. Also, there is a slightly 'holier than thou' attitude that comes through. Reingold himself continued to rate some stocks as 'Hold' even as they plummeted and even as he thought they were dogs. Now for the interesting question. Who's going to write the sequel - 'Confessions of a Real Estate Agent'? As the collapse of the US housing market gathers speed, the shady practices and outright fraud of the real estate agents, appraisers, lawyers & bankers will be laid bare for all to see....and it will be an ugly story - that's for sure. |
