5.0 out of 5 stars D'oh!-nt Stop Now...
Continuing to chronicle episodes of the Simpsons television show, the second guide, is a fine follow up edition. The book covers seasons 9 and 10 of the show. Happily, the creators didn't mess with the format of the book, and is laid out the same way as the first guide. Each episode gets a page or two devoted to it. As with the other book, my favorite section for each...

3.0 out of 5 stars Why now?
Although the content is very good, I don't understand why they had to put out a second edition that contains only two seasons. If they had just waited a little longer and included at least 4 or 5 seasons, I might have been happy with it. We're hungry but we get hungrier when forced to wait. We're not rich, you know!!

As with the other book, my favorite section for each show, is called "The Stuff You May Have Missed. Even though I have seen every episode of the show more than once, almost without fail, I find a gag or 2 that slipped by me. Soon, I find myself laughing again and again, and it doesn't end until I finish the book. The guide is also handy to have around as you watch the syndicated reruns as a reference. Special sections to take note of included at the back of the book are A Tribute To Troy McClure (voiced by the late Phil Hartman) and The Couch Gags. I think this book, along with the other guides about the series, (past and future) belong on every fan's bookshelf. The book has 95 pages and comes highly recommended

5.0 out of 5 stars Seasons 9-10, Complete, April 2 2003

The first book covers seasons 1-8. This book only covers two seasons: 9 and 10. Each episode gets a two page spread, while many of the episodes in the first book only had one page. This allows far greater detail to be covered.

I keep all (currently) three books near the TV, and I'll review the pages for each episode before I watch the rerun. In doing so, it opens my eyes to a lot of the little details that I missed the first fifty times I saw the episode.

Essentially, this is the owners manual for seasons 9 and 10.

Hi,
I have the other Simpson episode book, The Simpsons: A complete guide to our Favorite Family,(seasons 1-8), and wrote a review for it.
Well, this is just as good, for Seasons 9-10! :)
I have looked over every page and still love The Simpsons.
This is a must for any Simpson collections or Simpson fans!!

I think this sequel of "A complete guide" was something like "let's make another book, make little reviews of episodes and add some bad stuff at the end and between seasons and PRESTO!".

I still like it though, but it doesn't feel quite right, by the way BEYOND FOREVER it's a better book, they did put more effort in it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Even better than the first book, Nov 3 2002

While not being super in-depth it has enough quotes, pictures and allusions to remind you just why you liked each episode. Since there are fewer episodes covered, each episode is given more room for pictures if not more information. Not always packed with inside information or anything, but definitely worth buying for a simpsons fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars A bit thin, but a great continuation, Aug 14 2002

I'm of two minds about this book. As a rabid Simpsons fan, I love the continuation and expansion of the work done in the original Simpsons Forever!. This book continues to give us the view of Season 9 and 10 with all the gags and references that this smart show has to offer. Plus it expands on work done in the earlier book by taking some sweeping 10 season view of recurring gags such as the chalkboard. It belongs on the shelf right next to the original, to be read and laughed at all the time. I'm certainly glad I didn't have to wait 8 more seasons for the second guide.

On the other hand, the fact that this only covers two seasons, as compared to the original eight, bothers the economical sie of me. While yes, there is some material that ties Season 9 and 10 to Seasons 1 - 8, I don't always know if it si worth the price. Were it not a continuation of a great first book, this would be grossly overpriced.

As it is, though, The Simpsons Forever!...Continued is a worthy successor and helps keep the Simpsons Mania going.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great Simpsons book, Jun 15 2002

This book picks up where the "Complete Guide to Our Favorite Family" left off and continues from season 9 thru season 10. It has all the same great features of the first book, but I don't think the episodes were as funny during these seasons as the rest of the earlier years. Still, this is another must-have for a fan. I just hope they keep releasing additions for each successive season.

4.0 out of 5 stars D'oh!, May 6 2002

This review is from: The Simpsons Forever!: A Complete Guide to Our Favorite Family...Continued (Paperback)
The Simpsons Forever! A Complete Guide to Our Favorite Family... Continued is just what it sounds like. However, unlike the first book; this one only has 2 seasons in it, covering all the episodes from #9 and #10. The book starts off with a forward from creator Matt Groening saying that "we could've just stuck this book at the end of the last book and charged you for it again, but you fans deserve better." Nice thought, but they basically did that anyway. This book is $[money] for two seasons, the other one is $[money] for 8 seasons. There's no reason at all why they should be charging us more than $[money] for it...

But, if you're a Simpsons fan like me, you'll shell out the money... And don't get me wrong, it's a great book, just like the first one. If do you have the first one, you'll need/want to get the second one, just be forewarned about the price tag...
