I enjoy leafing through this book, and always come across something thought-provoking. There is plenty of fascinating data and insight to keep anyone with a quantitative or aesthetic bent happy for hours. The designs are mostly intricate double-spreads, though some extend over several pages. Some are funny, some depressing, and the spare style leaves the reader to think about each graphic for themselves. However, sometimes I would have liked some discreet commentary, or more specific details of the data source. And some of the designs are abstract to the point of dumbness: maybe they look nice, but it's just not clear what they are about. Others are too large for their information content, or use colour too arbitrarily.

this is a fascinating collection of facts presented as figures, eg. the colour associated with certain emotions around the world, which is presented as a wheel; or the contents of salad dressings presented as coloured levels in bottles. some pictures are so detailed they take a while to read, but the level of detail on so many different topics means you can read this book from front to back, in reverse, a random page at a time, for a few minutes or a few hours.

A pleasant book to display on your coffee table. The material quality is good with just the correct 'weighty-feel' for displaying on that glass table top. Full of colourful and uniquely presented statistical trivia that you never thought you'd be interested in. Engaging enough to read when you have a spare 5 minutes during the day but inconsequential enough to pick up just before bedtime and read until your eyelids get heavy.

I love this book! It presents information in artistic, graphic forms, which is perfect for the visual learner and makes it a perfect "coffee table" book. I bought a number of them for gifting to friends and family. Spend a minute or spend an hour....(although it's very hard to put down after a minute!)

Great coffee table book but also excellent reference for those, like me, that must communicate complex ideas for a living. Visual Miscellaneum is full of ideas on how to deliver content easily and in a fun and simple way. Can't wait for the next book!

Information is everywhere, we see so much of it everyday that a lot of it is often just blocked out.
This books shows a new way of understanding and getting information in an uncomplicated manner. Straight, simple forward and even humorous.

Heavy on pictures, minimal explanations and theory around why they work. More of picture book rather than a guide...
