This review is from: 1001 Questions to Ask Before You Get Married (Paperback)
My fiance and I have been going through this book as we are to be married soon and are not having it in a church so we wanted some sort of marriage prep, basically we just wanted to ask and answer any questions that we havent already thought of asking. It has been very good so far, definately raised discussions, which is what we wanted. Havent made it through the whole thing yet, but the further you get, the more interesting it is! Highly recommend for anyone in a serious relationship that would like to better themselves and their partners relationship.

Honeymoon Enhancer,

This review is from: 1001 Questions to Ask Before You Get Married (Paperback)
I learned so much about my fiance by going over these questions with him. Assumptions I was taking for granted were revealed to be inaccurate in several places - I was really glad we talked about them BEFORE getting married when it was probably easier to be honest. Afterwards I think I would have been more afraid of being honest and maybe of "ruining" our sense of togetherness. Other areas where I thought we might hold different opinions I was happily surprised to see we really agreed! I know that having done this (fun! really!) "homework" our "honeymoon" will last a whole lot longer! Great book - highly recommended to anyone in a serous relationship.

This review is from: 1001 Questions to Ask Before You Get Married (Paperback)
I WAS A LITTLE APPREHENSIVE AS TO WHETHER THIS BOOK WOULD BE AS HELPFUL AS THE CLAIMS AND RECOMMENDATIONS I READ ON IT. HOWEVER, IT IT EXTREMELY THOROUGH AND COVERS SO MANY THINGS YOU WOULD DISCOVER ABOUT YOUR PARTNER AND YOUR RELATIONSHIP IN THE FIRST YEAR OF MARRIAGE. I THINK THIS BOOK HELPS COUPLES GET ON THE SAME PAGE AND MAKES YOUR RELATIONSHIP STRONGER.WELL WORTH THE MONEY, A GREAT GIFT AS WELL...AND ALSO FOR THOSE NOT SURE WHERE THE RELATIONSHIP IS GOING OR WHETHER IT SHOULD LEAD TO MARRIAGE ---THIS BOOK WOULD REALLY HELP YOU OUT TOO. A MUST FOR ALL COUPLES!

I am going to highly recommend this book to the many couples with whom I work. -Yona Kollin, M.S.W., B.C.D "Monica M. Leahy's questions are most useful. Couples should discuss these important questions before and avoid disaster later!" -Bill & Judy Elbring Monica Leahy has written an important and essential book for all couples contemplating marriage. The 1001 questions, based on her extensive research, guide couples to consider together the important issues that all couples face. It would be wonderful if all couples entertaining marriage would sit down and discuss the questions and information in this valuable book. It is likely that we would have a significantly improvement in the stability and satisfaction of married couples in our society. Couples who are knowledgeable and informed have a much better chance at success and fulfillment with each other. -Dr. Barry G. Ginsberg "Take off your blinders and take a look! A great collection of questions for those contemplating marriage and for counselors and clergy who assist them!" -Kelly Simpson, M.A. Psychology, L.M.F.T "After reading 1001 Questions To Ask Before You Get Married, I am convinced that people should read it before taking their marriage vows because there would be far less divorces." -Dr. Ava Caledell, PhD., EdD. "If persons considering marriage were able to ask and honestly answer even half these questions, they would surely have their eyes wide open!" -Patricia Edlefsen, M.N., R.N "In my 20 plus years in the book industry, this is the most all encompassing marriage preparation book I've ever seen! It is hip and intelligent and really addresses the problems and issues that are of concern to today's couples. I have certainly seen my share of manuscripts and advanced copies over the years but rarely one as well written and unique as 1001 Questions To Ask Before Getting Married." -Kelly Goodman "This book not only helps couples discuss how they plan to manage their finances, but also explores emotional reasons for their spending and saving styles. That alone makes it stand out above other relationship-help books. I found the questions so well written and intriguing, that it was hard to put the book down!" -Claudia L. Llanos "Spectacular reading! All of the questions really helped us to analyze our relationship. We learned so much, Thanks!" -Rosi & Afshir "Too often couples rush into a marriage not asking the serious questions about what it means to be a loving, compatible couple. This book allows an individual or couple to reflect on their values and life experiences in a way they may not have considered before. It challenges the reader to examine if they have seriously explored the many facets of married life. It is a must read book for anyone seriously considering marriage." -Fr. Alan Oakes "This guide provides excellent resource material for anyone in a relationship or planning marriage. Even though I'm not currently in a relationship, this reference manual taught me what to look for and how to approach a serious relationship." -Jason Amorosi, "Excellent book for couples to read. My clients should read this book before buying their wedding gown!" -Eugenia |
