Put me to sleep,

This review is from: Committed: A Love Story (Paperback)
I agree with a previous reviewer, who said don't read this if you liked Eat Pray Love and are hoping for a sequel. I can't even get through this book. It speaks so little of her personal situation and deals more with an in-depth look into marriage itself. As a study of the institution of marriage, however, it won't disappoint.

Being in the same situation this book to me was brilliant and it gave me hope and to never give up on the one I love and being together ... forever.

Disappointing,

This review is from: Committed: A Skeptic Makes Peace with Marriage (Hardcover)
I absolutely LOVED the book Eat,Pray,Love, and I was very excited to buy this one. While the previous book had me reading until my eyes got tired, this book was work to read. It felt like school, when you are forced to read something on the required reading list. The author has such a wonderful gift of describing emotions and "scenes" that I didn't feel in this book at all. I read for pleasure, and after pushing myself to get halfway through, I decided to put it down and not bother with the rest. I hope that her next book will be a return to her wonderful strength. I eagerly await the next novel!

If you are anything like me and want to read this book seeing as it is the suite to Eat Love Pray... don't! This book is as dull as Eat Pray Love was entertaining, deep and enlightening. I do not recommend it at all.

I fell in love with her book Eat Pray Love and thought that this one was more in the lines of it however it was a history lesson in marrage of sorts. Her struggle with having to marry her love just so he could live in the USA. For me it was more of a way our goverments force the people in doing what they want to control.

This book was boring, boring, boring what a disappointment! The author tries to figure out the meaning of marriage beginning at the 1900's. It is definately not a book to read at bedtime as you will just fall asleep. I found myself skimming through the pages as the author just rambles on. What a complete disappointment and waste of money!
