5.0 out of 5 stars Rules For Aging
This book is very funny and full of wisdom about aging. It is a great book to take on a flight as it is a quick read. I highly recommend it.

1.0 out of 5 stars This is a book?
I found a few chuckles in this document. It doesn't qualify to be called a book. Otherwise, it's shallow, cynical and trivial. I wished I could get my money back. If you see it on an auction, it has value to start a fire to bring warmth to an aging room.

5.0 out of 5 stars Read Again and Again, Mar 15 2003

Funny, true, hilarious, thoughtful, quick, insightful. . . . .just a few words to describe a wonderful book that is just something that you need to keep around the house to read every once in a while. I bought a few to give as gifts. Instead insulting someone on their birthday why not make them laugh. This little book is brilliant!

Reading this little book is like popping a calcium tablet. It's good for you. Roger Rosenblatt's 58 rules are sincere and important tidbits of guiding information. It should be required reading for humanity.

From the author of "I'm Living Your Dream Life."

5.0 out of 5 stars A Man For All Seasons (Ages), April 30 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Rules For Aging (Hardcover)
A friend kept trying to quote from 'Rules for Aging' and I would shush him because I hate people shoveling out quotes as a response to a problem. Smart man, he bought the book and gave it to me. I have been laughing ever since. Roger is as witty (oops, sorry Roger-see Rule #14) and wise as they come. Mostly this book gets me in a good mood no matter how cranky I am. I use it like my I Ching. I close my eyes and select a page to learn my fate for the day and with out fail, laughter is the prescription. I recommend it highly I am giving this book to both my 30 year old daughter and my 81 year old mother for Mother's Day.

A proponent of Rule #4

I'm in my mid-30's and found this book to be both humorous and enlightening. It contains good, home-spun wisdom that is really timeless and ageless. Just applying a few of the "Rules," will make you more content with yourself and the life you are living. It is a book that you will want to share with your family and friends. It helps you to realize the minimal importance of day to day failures in the grand scheme of things and is quite uplifting.

4.0 out of 5 stars E-mail to the world, Dec 21 2001
This review is from: Rules for Aging (Paperback)
When I finished reading *Rules for Aging*, my first impulse was to e-mail everyone I know (most of whom are post-47, and the rest of whom could benefit from 47+ wisdom) and recommend the book. It's well written: the author uses language well, in addition to getting all the technical minutiae correct. It's humorous, almost cynical, in tone. Yet there is a *lot* of truth and valuable insight here. I particularly like Rule #1:"No one is thinking about you." Would I had realized that forty years ago!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rules for Aging, Jun 11 2001

I bought this book for myself upon a friend's recommendation. Both my husband and I thought it was great.

I felt so strongly about the message I bought a copy for each daughter; I am unwilling to share my book beyond our home. We have recommended it to many friends.

The wisdom is right on and the humor is absolutely entertaining. It works for busy people because some chapters are only one sentence long. Now that is skilled writing. Chapters do not need to be read in order. Each is its own subject. Sharing one chapter can set the pace for an evening with friends.

4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Gift For The Gal That Has Everything, Jun 6 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Rules For Aging (Hardcover)
I purchased this book for an almost-80 friend with a sharp sense of humor (like mine). It's a quick, easy, tongue-in-cheek read, based on profound truths, and a wonderful gift for the woman who has everything. Roger B. has lived long enough to know "where it's at". Buy it...you'll be glad you did.

5.0 out of 5 stars Avoid Looking in Mirrors While Reading Rules for Aging, Mar 28 2001

I was about to order Anna Quindlen's book on a meaningful life for a friend when I happened upon Roger Rosenblatt's Rules for Aging. I skimmed through the book and knew immediately that this was a book ALL my friends need to read, because it's for and about them. Then I read the book, and with tears in my eyes from pain and laughter, I realized Rules for Aging is about ME! Now I'm a changed person. Isn't that TERRIFIC? Whoops, I think I just broke a rule for aging!
