I really enjoy this book. I watch the show and as soon as I saw the book, I had to get it. It's fun to read and easy to look through with full page colour photos of every body type and outfit (day/work evening/going out and casual). It's got a list of must-haves which, if followed, make it easy to build outfits. A great book to have, even if you're not heavily into fashion.

This review is from: Dress Your Best: The Complete Guide to Finding the Style That's Right for Your Body (Paperback)
The book is neatly organized into the following body types for women1. Bigger on top 2. Bigger on bottom 3. A little extra in the middle 4. Curvy 5. Not curvy 6. Extra Curvy. Each body type is then divided into three subcategories, petite, average height and tall. The men body types are 1. short 2. average 3. tall 4. athletic 5. small frame 6. barral chested 7. tummy 8. hips. After figuring out your approprite body type one should go to their section, which is accompanied by an image of a person with such a body type in their underwear. As well their height and clothing sizes are given along with some quotes about the person explaining difficulties they have with finding appropriate clothing. The next 3 pages are your only sources of information. The topics covered are work, weekend and evening apparel, each with a picture of one outfit you can wear. On each page comments are made about the outfit, why it works and what you should look for. I found the information in the book to be rather limited as it really only offered 4 pages of information about my particular body type, and it did not really cover too much detail. However the book is full of images and is easy to follow. More suggestions on other clothings option would have made the book a lot better.

Worth the money,

There are several "dressing for your body shape" books but this one has three key differences:1. The body shape labels are simple to understand like Bigger on Top, Bigger on the Bottom, etc. and kept to a minimum unlike Trinny & Susannah who deal with 12 body shapes with unusual names like Lollipop and Skittle. 2. Each of the 6 female body shapes is addressed in terms of height which is an absolute must because height certainly does make a difference when selecting styles for your body shape (e.g., Bigger on the Bottom - Petite, Average and Tall) 3. Styling men is included which makes it a great book not only for men (or women stlying their men), but for those in the business related to personal image consulting. Oh, and the pictures are very useful and realistic because they include real people with real bodies. Stacy and Clinton write in the same tone used on their TV show, What Not To Wear, so the book is entertaining as well as informative. Worth the money for sure. In fact, it's a steal.

I expected better.,

Firstly - I love "What not to wear" and was hopeful when reading this book. Unfortunately the categories where just to wide / unclear. (Tall & curvy or tall and fuller on top.) I was unsure where I fit in. I would suggest you rather read "The Science of Sexy" by Bradley Bayou. He categorizes you by measurements, height and weight - it was idiot-proof with wonderful advice. The only helpful area in Stacy & Clintons book is the 2 pages that list wardrobe essentials, but don't buy the book just for that.

It's OK, but the clothes for large women still don't fit and aren't all that flattering. I'm giving this to one of the daughters who might find something useful as there's nothing interesting in it for me.

Love the Show, The Book... Not So Much,

I love the TV show "What Not To Wear". I watch it every week. It was not a huge shock then that I would buy the book about the show, but I was disappointed with it when I got it. Sure, the book is full color and full of trademark witty remarks- but it focuses on SO many different body types (and when you're trying to diagnose yourself- it's tough) that even when you find your ideal shape/type- there are only a few pages dedicated to it.I like the idea of the style by shape as I fully agree this is important- but it wasn't as well written or descriptive as the "Science of Sexy" by Bradley Bayou. I'd recommend that more. As a suggestion to Clinton/Kelly (as if they read this, but I'll give it a shot) your next book could be more about the personal styles rather than shapes. Focusing on how one can dress to channel Jackie O or Madonna or Audrey Hepburn. Helping women distinguish themselves and create their own style, like you do on the show, would really be a great read.

received this book today and I love it. It has every body type you can imagine and how to dress it. Since we all evolve and are never the same body type thru out life this book is great. It will go with you. I've been 2 of these body types and I'm on a third and now I finally know how to dress them all.
