If I had a nickel for every diet book I have read ...well, I would have a lot more nickels than pounds lost, that's for sure! I have never written a review before but this book inspires me to do. First I will get to my review, then I will share my results so far. The review part: this is SO much more than just a diet book and that is EXACTLY why I liked it. A couple people complained that the author spent too much time talking about hormones and didn't get to the diet part until late in the book, but the reason it worked for me is because she actually did discuss the reasons why I have had so much difficult losing weight or keeping it off in the past. According to her, until we get to the root of the problems - hormones - you can't lose weight because it's the hormones running the show! I'll tell ya, if you want just another diet book, there's a million of them on the shelves at any book store. This is so much more. In the first part of the book she discusses 16 different hormonal imbalances and the symptoms of each one. When I read that it was like a lightbulb going off in my head - I clearly had hormone imbalance 7 (excess estrogen), hormone imbalance 13 (low thyroid) and hormone imbalance 9 (low progesterone) and her hormonal health questionnaire revealed it. For years I thought that this was maybe just a normal part of aging and yet all I would think about was how good I used to feel years ago. I felt depressed, anxious, fuzzy and frumpy almost ALL the time!

Well, I got on her detox, (including her bathroom and kitchen detox) and starting feeling much better, and while it didn't happen overnight the pounds did start coming off. I also started incorporating her supplement suggestions for each hormonal imbalance, modifying my sleep habits and doing the workout in the book. Fast forward to now - it's been a few months and I have already lost 24lbs! I found a doctor that finally did the tests that I needed to have done and it turns out Dr. Turner was right - low thyroid AND low progesterone! In combination with that doctor, and this book, my hormones are finally getting back in balance - at age 39! I can't believe I spent soo many years in the `dark', feeling terrible. While I still consider myself a `work in progress', I know that I feel SO much better than I did before and I get comments all the time from my coworkers and friends saying how good I look. In fact, I can't believe I am saying this, but I am actually looking forward to my 40th birthday now! I also highly recommend reading Knockout by Suzanne Somers. Good luck and good health to all.

I loved this book. It's much more than just a diet, it takes your mind, body and spirit into consideration. I love all the tips she gives the reader to live a better, happier life. I just started implementing some of her suggestions into my daily life and I already feel much better and a lot of my food cravings are gone. I tried a few of the recipes and they taste great. If your going to buy one diet or lifestyle book this should be the one.

This is Dr. Natasha Turner's first book on diet to balance hormones. And is continued in her sequel "The Super-Charge Hormone Diet". Every Mom should have these two books! Teach our children well.

I found this book to be very informative - as a post-menopausal woman, I learned a lot about the hormonal link to weight gain in the middle years. The proactive approach to healthy weight maintenance is the key to success. I recommend this book to my contemporaries who have been frustrated in their attempts to stay at a healthy weight through the traditional methods of diet, exercise, etc.

Excellent book,... Dr. Turner writes clearly and accessibly, this is a must-read for those who are interested in taking charge of their health. Recipes are easy and some are now favourites in my home!

I read this book from cover to cover and it just made sense. She addresses issues of sleeping, stress, food an then exercise. I am almost finished the 6 weeks and feel fantastic. The recipes are delicious and tasty. I am all ready sharing this book with friends and family.

I bought this book based on a recommendation from my doctor. I was extremely tired and experiencing dizziness and nausea. My doctor told me that many of her patients found that by reading this book and following the program it solved the same issues I was having. The book it filled with a ton of information about hormones and how what we eat, our sleep patterns, and exercise affects those hormones.
I wish I had read the book sooner!

I was your typical healthy forty something until I had my bloods done. Like many of us, poor diet, the wrong excercise, too much stress and my cholesterol, blood pressure and sugars were all creeping in the wrong direction. The doctor starting naming drugs that I would soon be thinking of. I was scared and felt old. I saw Dr. Turner the next week, I found her to be bright, motivating, and very knowledgeable. She became a partner and supporter and made it clear I could fix all my issues if I committed to diet, excercise, stress management and supplements.

It is now 9 months later, I am 20 pounds lighter, in the best shape of the past 20 years and my bloodwork is perfect. Natasha's program takes commitment, but if I can do it, with 3 young kids and a very active business life, anyone can. You should read this book, follow it and change your life. The way we eat and live makes us sick, following a healthier lifestyle can make huge changes to the way you live and feel.
Natasha has an intelligent, well researched approach to helping you get there.

I've researched a lot of what is in this book, having been on a hormone journey for the last 8 years and the eating plan and lifestyle suggested in this book WORKS. It is thorough, well-researched and helps bring your life into balance. This a wonderful lifestyle/diet for those who suffer from the effects of trauma and depression too since it helps the body's natural pharmacy right itself after years of the flight/flight processess being out of whack from PTSD. Bravo!!!
