5.0 out of 5 stars TOTALLY AWSOME!!
Like everything, it takes a lot of work but the results are AMAZING !!, I could see my body changing as the days progressed!!, to be totally honest, I couldn't stick to her meal plans but I tried to keep my intake within the calorie counts that the book recommended me for my weight and height (1400), yes, I would cheat from time to time, I mean, dieting is one of the...

3.0 out of 5 stars Small town,Big problem
Yes, the book is very well written and I am a big fan of Jillian with her take charge attitude. Unfortunately, this book was a big waste of my money. I live in a smaller town where most of the specialty items required for Jillian's meal plans cannot be found. I mean swordfish isn't going to be found in my little supermarket. Oh, and did I mention I am allergic to...

5.0 out of 5 stars TOTALLY AWSOME!!, July 17 2010
This review is from: Making the Cut: The 30-Day Diet and Fitness Plan for the Strongest, Sexiest You (Paperback)
Like everything, it takes a lot of work but the results are AMAZING !!, I could see my body changing as the days progressed!!, to be totally honest, I couldn't stick to her meal plans but I tried to keep my intake within the calorie counts that the book recommended me for my weight and height (1400), yes, I would cheat from time to time, I mean, dieting is one of the hardest things for me, but I did cut back, that is about the food, now the excercises, are a killer!, I always ended up sweating and trying to catch up my breath,..there's no way I would have ever pushed myself that hard if not for this book, I have been going to the gym for two years now and have lost a considerable amount of weight, but with following the exercises program and trying 90% of my best to follow a healthy diet within the calories suggested, I not only lost weight but definitely my body has now a nice hour glass shape, I have my abs trimmed, my legs, my whole appearance!!, is so notorious!, I have co-workers (guys) looking at me from head to tow (although they are not supposed to do that!! LOL), and I can feel it, guys looking at me at the supermarket, everywhere, and even my female friends, co-workers etc. taking a double look at my figure :)
It does work, and it works exactly for the people it was intended to, people with no more than 10-20 lbs extra, ..the excercises are very difficult so if you have more weight than that, I would recommend you to buy other type of books instead of this one, I would also recommend bringing copies of the book to the gym, I created a binder with copies of all the excersises and the daily routines and the first day, I lost it !!, got to take copies again..but it wasnt as bad as if I would have lost the entire book!!, of course, nobody returned the binder ever.....anyway, all and all, an excellent book!! thanks Jillian!! :)

Oh, and did I mention I am allergic to fish! If you are living in a metropolitan area where you have access to these kinds of ingrediants, and can stomach them not to mention, then I say yes, this book is for you. If not, I'd look elsewhere and save your money.

4.0 out of 5 stars Innovative exercises !, Oct 7 2009
This review is from: Making the Cut: The 30-Day Diet and Fitness Plan for the Strongest, Sexiest You (Paperback)
interesting book & exercises. I find some of the exercises quite challenging and still can't do the circuits in the time frame she suggests. Really like the workouts and the way my muscles feel after only a few weeks on the program. Definitely the quickest results I have seen for exercise & diet combined!

This review is from: Making the Cut: The 30-Day Diet and Fitness Plan for the Strongest, Sexiest You (Paperback)
Making the cut looks to be thorough and well written. However, as a vegetarian, meal plans are useless to me. While explanations for the benefits of exercise, etc are good, they seem to be a bit basic for the audience (an already fit target market, who has already been doing consistent exercise - those who are not in decent shape will not be able to complete exercises properly).

Oh the plus side, exercise circuits were well done ->although more detailed exercise explanations would be useful (i.e. a picture for frog pushups) circuits provide a good mix of cardio and weight training. I regularily do Billy Blanks boot camp and found circuits to still have some challenges. In any case, I hope to see results after completion of the 30 day plan speak for themselves!

5.0 out of 5 stars Make the cut!, Nov 24 2008
This review is from: Making the Cut: The 30-Day Diet and Fitness Plan for the Strongest, Sexiest You (Paperback)
I am a big fan of the biggest loser and love Jillan! I have the workout dvd and decided to see what this book could do for me too. It's great, though it is a bit intense. But, hey, if you're going to get results in 30 days, you have to be intense. I definitely recommend it, along with

This review is from: Making the Cut: The 30-Day Diet and Fitness Plan for the Strongest, Sexiest You (Paperback)
I was expecting another book that I would read but never follow. Well I was wrong!!! Started following the diet and exercise routines and was amazed when in the first week had dropped 7 pounds. After the 3rd day I was no longer feeling tired and had more energy than I have in a long time. Now I'm a routine gym goer(5 days a week) and do a boot camp two days a week so I think I'm in good shape but after looking closely at what I eat and how I metabolize it this diet is what I needed. I would recommend this to anyone who is ready to change their body.

5.0 out of 5 stars Making the Cut - excellent!, Mar 2 2009

This review is from: Making the Cut: The 30-Day Diet and Fitness Plan for the Strongest, Sexiest You (Paperback)
This is an excellent book and I love especially the detailed meal plans that have been set out for each type: slow oxidizer, balanced oxidizer and fast oxidizer. Also one of the best part, for me, are the recipes they have been so far really good and have given me back the motivation to cook. I am really motivated and look forward to each meal. I go to the gym 4 times a week and in the days off I do one of Jillian's workout videos (which are great) - so I have not tapped into the workout circuits in the book yet but I can tell you that for the first week on this program I have already lost weight. I hope you enjoy it as well

2.0 out of 5 stars Not really what I was expecting, Oct 31 2011
This review is from: Making the Cut: The 30-Day Diet and Fitness Plan for the Strongest, Sexiest You (Paperback)
The excercise part is great but overall, is not a specialized guide. The best way I guess is to visit the Nutriologist!!

Book is great and in excellent condition, received late but that was due to the postal strike, not the seller. Price was excellent!

4.0 out of 5 stars Some Good Tips, Feb 18 2011
This review is from: Making the Cut: The 30-Day Diet and Fitness Plan for the Strongest, Sexiest You (Paperback)
I thought this book was helpful in that it explains, simply, diet plans and fitness plans for people who do not need to lose 100 pounds. I believe in the first few pages there is a disclaimer that states "this book is for people looking to shed 20 pounds max...." which is true. There are a lot of good tips for someone who is new to fitness, such as calculating your maximum heart rate, learning about your metabolism as it stands now in relation to oxidization, and lots of other tips. There are also pretty decent workout routines, and helpful information about the use of supplements. About half of the book is filled with recipes and fitness routines, so really there is only half the book made for reading. I would recommend it as a quick read. I am unsure whether following this book religiously would get you ripped. That is yet to be seen. lol. But its Jillian, it must work!
