The Amazing Feats of Pete,
Ce commentaire est de: A Champion's Mind: Lessons from a Life in Tennis (Hardcover)
This is an outstanding piece of work that bestows us with a glimpse of one of the most phenomenal tennis players of all time. Pete Sampras was one of my role models growing up and he still is to this very day even after years of retirement. In his breathtaking autobiography, he candidly reveals all his trials and tribulations that acted as various stepping stones to lead him to all his glory and success. He made a lot of difficult sacrifices to succeed in his career with his hard-nosed work ethic and always blocked all forms of distractions to stay focused. His talented display of endurance and athletic abilities was truly remarkable especially considering his anemic condition. Finally, he was also very humble and polite despite his extraordinary accomplishments and celebrity status. He was one of the very few players that was dominant with his constant serve-and-volley game which is tough to execute and unfortunately is rare to watch as a consistent tactic these days (except for at Wimbledon). With his constantly blazing fire in the belly during his playing days, he was a stunning inspiration in the arena of tennis and still continues to inspire his loyal fans like myself to this very day.

Ce commentaire est de: A Champion's Mind: Lessons from a Life in Tennis (Paperback)
It seems inevitable that people will retroactively compare Pete Sampras' autobiography with Andre Agassi's autobiography in the same way that people tended to take sides when these two players were active and battling for tennis supremacy on the ATP tour, but that would be a bit unfair to both men. Each autobiography is completely consistent with our understanding of each player's personality, which means that "A Champion's Mind" is introspective, thoughtful, articulate and carefully balanced. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I'm proud to keep it side by side with "Open" in the Tennis section of my bookshelf at home.
