"I need the attention of beautiful women.",

Ce commentaire est de: American Prince: A Memoir (Hardcover)
As much as I liked Tony Curtis in the fifties and early sixties, his memoir makes him to be a perpetually horny little boy with the biggest ego in Hollywood. He talks about all of his movies, but seems proudest of his trysts with his leading ladies; apparently there were few starlets who could resist his charms. I gave up counting how many affairs he had; they must have numbered in the hundreds. When career took a nosedive he blamed his six wives, his drug addiction, and anti-Semitism. His hubris concerning his desirability is matched only by his inflated opinion of his acting abilities. That said, it certainly is a page-turner.

Fast and entertaining read. Juicy details on an amazing life, from growing up in New York, his military service, and movie career.

I love this book - it's truthfull and I love reading about how movie stars got started, and how they met different people along the way. There are tons of great pictures of Tony Curtis, who was a great looking man!Sadly, Mr. Curtis is gone now - he passed away recently. I'm glad he wrote this before he had to leave us. |
