Works if you follow it, just like every other wellness book. I like the premise of the most benefit for the least effort workout.

It's an OK book, but nothing special. Certainly not a note of '5', but there is a lot of positive things that if implemented would be positive.

love this book. Tim is so funny. this book is very clever, and works.
some may think its a bit extreme in some cases, but i would say that the ideas and methods in here are inline with how i operate.
the slow carb diet is probably the most impactful part of the book.

This was a complete waste of time. All his ideas are completely based on his "research" , which includes opinions from Pornographic performers! I am not even kidding you. The name of this book should be " how to waste 4 hours". If you really want to read a good , science based book on health and healing, read the Perfect Health Diet book. Written by actual scientists.

This was a complete waste of time and money.
I'd hate to call this a quasi-science as it would disrespect the quasi-science industry.
But whatever it is, it was useless. Kind of liking browsing the internet for "10 ways to improve your body". You'd scan through the lists, realize all but one are useless and then you add that one tip to your workout and drop it quickly. Except this is a monster of a book.
It was heavy though, to sound corny - it was great to hold out straight in front of me while I did squats.
One of the only books I've happily and without hesitation thrown out.

Where's the zero stars?

Buy if - you are looking to read about nutrition and steroids. Though I'm sure there are better books on that subject.

There are so many ways to improve yourself in this book it's mind blowing. Don't be lazy. Tackle just one thing in this book, and you'll be happier for it. After all, what is life all about?

Good book with some "out of the box" thinking and re-thinking of how the body works. Enjoyed it and even had some success with the the Slow-Carb diet, although it's not good for people with kidney disease (too much protein).

I think this book is worth a read as long as you keep in mind that 80%+ of the information is unreliable.

You have to keep in mind, the remaining 10-20% is still SOLID GOLD, and that's why you should get this book.

For me, the biggest impact the book had on me were the chapters on weight gain and muscle growth. It talks through the mechanics of why certain workouts are better suited for building muscles while others are better at fat loss, and offers quite a few exercises to try. In particular, I like the concepts of increasing the muscle-under-tension time, and incorporating more compound exercises like the kettlebell swing.

The chapters on running and swimming were also quite informative. I wish those information were taught in elementary school, and maybe we wouldn't have so many people today with hunch backs (myself included)!

In conclusion, I think everyone will get some useful information out of this book, you just have to jump around different chapters until you find the 10-20% that apply to you.

Love this book and most stuff from Timothy Ferriss. I'm currently following the weight loss plan and have lost over 10lbs in the past 2 months and that includes XMAS season and having a "Treat Day" once a week. Follow the plan, you'll feel 10X more energetic with no mid-afternoon crash and lose body fat at the same time. Good read!
