5.0 out of 5 stars Like honey drops for my soul
So far I've got only two items created by Osho - The Book of Secrets, which I had to get because I am passionate about Shiva sutras, and the Zen Tarot deck, as I am a Tarot cards collector and when I read Osho's interpretations in either of these two works, it's not just like reading a book or tarot card interpretation, but rather like savoring honey drops of wisdom...

3.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful but very, very subtle
I bought this package some-odd years ago as my first Tarot deck and was both delighted and disappointed. The Zen approach to card interpretation makes it very easy to begin readings, but leaves you with only a vague idea of what the combination of cards means. Most people want a hint to help make a decision, not a self-help recommendation. But I agree with the book...

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful--Peaceful, Aug 4 1998
This review is from: Osho Zen Tarot: The Transcendental Game Of Zen (Cards)
I have been using these cards for 2 years. The artwork is phenominal. I have found peace and a better understanding of myself and the world around me. I use them every morning and they are always correct. I have read them for friends and they are amazed at the truthfulness found in the readings. These cards have helped me deal with the death of my husband/soulmate.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautifully Simplistic!, July 17 1998

As a reader and collector of decks, this one is my current favorite. It is without doubt different -- the Major Arcana is increased by several cards and many are renamed, and the four traditional suits are replaced by Fire, Water, Clouds and Rainbows. The art of this deck is beautiful and very easy to interpret, and it promotes a divinative story that is smooth, flowing and peacefully helpful.

5.0 out of 5 stars A World of Wisdom, Feb 27 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Osho Zen Tarot: The Transcendental Game Of Zen (Cards)
I have worked with this particular tarot deck for over five years, professionally, and have found that it's insights, teachings and unique view of life, love and learning offer real assistance to both reader and querent. It has a wonderfully warm and humourous quality often lacking in other Tarot decks and it's wonderful, spiritually uplifting and descriptive illustration render it immediately user friendly and, I have found, captures both the attention and immagination of the person receiving the reading. All in all, one of the best tarot decks available - and as far as I am concerened as a tarot reader, the only deck worth working with.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely to look at, delightful to read, Feb 24 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Osho Zen Tarot: The Transcendental Game Of Zen (Cards)
This is one of the easiest decks to connect with and remember meanings. It would be wonderful for meditation alone, but it can be used for tarot counseling as well. The artwork is stunning. It does have a major arcana which includes "Thunderbolt", akin to the Tower card. The "quickie" past life spread is accurate, too, as are the others included in the companion book. No, you won't be a Zen master by the time you're done, but it's adeck that stays balanced no matter howunfocused the client is.

5.0 out of 5 stars Different Opinion, Feb 9 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Osho Zen Tarot: The Transcendental Game Of Zen (Cards)
All old traditions,Zen,Buddhism and many others have been rebellions agains traditional systems at their time. They all have been the beginning of something new. History has turned them by and by again into old traditions, which have not much to say to us today. This Osho Zen Tarot speaks to you, as a human being of today. It does not claim to teach you old encient wisdom. With this tarot deck you will find a mirrow for your own inner world. The cards you pull reflect your own being of this moment. I can recomend the tarot to everybody. Every little quote from Osho is a reminder who we are.

4.0 out of 5 stars one *may* gain great insight to oneself, Aug 13 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Osho Zen Tarot: The Transcendental Game Of Zen (Cards)
first, the book itself, i felt, is terribly 'westernized': turning the basic eastern philosophy into nothing more than simple 'inspirational' statements for one to use. that is *not* what the Osho Zen is. Osho zen really is nothing more than the philosophy of zen, which includes Indian, Chinese, and Japanese Budhism. one cannot possible gain practical knowledge of zen budhism through this book. for its history and (cultural) practice, one must look elsewhere other than Osho Zen.

secondly, the tarot deck itself is wonderful, for one *may* gain better understanding of the self *through* the (very) general concepts of Zen Budhism. but to 'gain that knowledge' of self, one must find it through the cards, not from it. this is not about following (yet another) religious system or social sytem. Budhism is not about following (passively or assertively) 'another system', but finding nature's balance within the person. (And that would entail years of shedding one's own identity completely!)

3.0 out of 5 stars OSHO'S TAROT, Oct 22 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Osho Zen Tarot: The Transcendental Game Of Zen (Cards)
A NEW AND EXCITING INTERPRETATION OF THE TAROT. THIS IS ONE OF THE BETTER (NON) TAROT DECKS AVAILABLE. YES THIS IS NOT A REAL TAROT DECK. IT IS OSHO'S PHILOSOPHY DONE UP TO RESEMBLE THE TAROT.

ESPECIALLY SUITED FOR PEOPLE INTERESTED IN OSHO'S SPIN ON EASTERN METAPHYSICAL THOUGHT AND PHILOSOPHY.

PROS: EASILY ACCESSIBLE, INSIGHTFUL. USEFUL FOR PSYCHOLOGICAL INTROSPECTION.

CONS: CAPTIONS TEND TO DRAW ATTENTION AWAY FROM INTUITIVE RESPONSES. YOU MAY NEED THE BOOK, WHICH IS SOLD SEPERATELY, FOR A MORE MEANINGFUL DESCRIPTION OF THE CARDS. A BIT TOO CARTOONY - SOME CARDS MAY JUST TURN YOU OFF.

ADVICE: CAUTION - FOR OSHO & NEW AGE EASTERN THINKERS.
