As difficult as parts of this book were to read- due to some of the nature of the material. This was a beautiful book about two characters who are are two separate journeys but are connected. The author did a fantastic job of getting the reader to know and love the characters. LOVED IT!

Beautiful story,
This review is from: Sarah's Key (Paperback)
A well-written book detailing a historical event that I had no idea existed in France. Little was ever taught to us in school about these events. I bought the book and read it in a couple of hours one afternoon -- I couldn't put it down and I *had* to find out what happened.I can't say enough about the character of Sarah and how she moved me. It was well done and brought me to tears many times. One of my favorite books!

Beautiful and Sad,

This is a beautiful book that is very educating about what went on in the WWII. However, part of the story line might be hard to read for parents. Even though it is so well written and I would love to therefore recommend it to everyone; the story might not be for everyone.

I was hooked from the get go. A book that you can't put down because you NEED to know what happened next. Very painful story, but in such a readable, well written way. I cried and now I can say that I got just a little glipse of what happened in Paris, July 1942. All of the real stories we will never know. This book honors all of those who suffered. I take my hat off to Tatiana de Rosnay for chosing to write this and really succeeding. I'm not Jewish (although I have close friends who are), and I say this just to make sure people don't feel like they have to be to read this captivating story. I feel that buzz you feel after just finishing a fantastic novel that makes it difficult to come back to reality.

This novel was heart wrenching and informative. Characters were alive. Vivid, breath taking descriptives. Learned a great deal about the occupation of France that I had never learned in history classes. Excellent read - could not put it down.

Awesome.....a gripping novel.,

This extremely well written historical novel is virtually flawless. Everything about the book-the streets and locations in Paris are the very streets I've strolled along unaware of their historical significance. I've now picked up SUITE FRANÇAISE again to further experience the horrors of the Vichy era. You'll love this book.
