Just okay....,

After Twilight I searched for books similar to it and this was one of the series that popped up. Unfortunately I bought all the books and have to say it was ok. I found the heroine of this book to be very annoying and indecisive. I was looking for romance and it did not deliver. There was no "Edward", but there was a couple of "might be" Edwards. The Twilight Sagas were great and crossed boundaries of age, sadly I found these to be just for the young adults. The most likeable character in this book is the one you're supposed to hate, Aphrodite. There were parts that were funny but lets face it, it's a poor replacement where you're trying to fill the void after reading Twilight. By the end of the book, I just wish all the guys in the book would open their eyes and realize, she's just not worth it.

I've bought the first 4 books, and read them all back to back, and sometimes I did find it difficult to put down. The books are a real easy read, not to many confusing scenarios or complicated wordings (which can be good and bad). I will say this, it is DEFINITELY directed at teens, end of story. If you're a bit older and don't want to read about some mundane teen drama.. don't get this book, it's not for you. However I did find some of the story rather interesting. I also found that the main character Zoey was to often driven by "feelings" or intuitions.. many of the great things she does isn't actually a well thought out plan.. she just suddenly feels urges to go places with zero explanation. I guess that's okay? it progresses the story and all that, but I find it doesn't take much skill for that kind of story plotting. Over all, kind of addictive to read, interesting story, but very juvenile and simple.. could be your thing though.

Trying to Fill the Twilight Hole,

The books have a good story line, I enjoy how the authors have integrated vampires in modern day society in a different way from Twilight. Overall I really enjoy reading the series. Im all caught up, Im just waiting for the release of their new Book "Burning".The only complaint I have with this series is that each book only takes place in a span of a couple days to a maximum of 1 month. This short span might not bother other readers but I feel like the character development is rushed because of it and sometimes unrealistic. But I do understand this is fiction and the line between realistic and unrealistic is blurred.

I was able to pick up the first four books in the series and read them one after the other. I'm finding the story line very interesting as it's got a slightly different take than other books within the vampire genre. The writing style is simple, and all the characters are being explored and developed well. I'm engrossed in the "realness" of the story since the writing, in my opinion, reflects things pretty accurately from a teenager's perspective (although I haven't been a teenager for a while). I'm along on the same trip with Zoey and her friends and find myself celebrating the highs, and feeling down in the lows with them. All books are a pretty quick read since they're only around 300 pages long, and that's one negative about the series: two books could conceivably have been printed as one. Another issue is I don't know how many books are planned for the series but I hope there's not too many more (Burned, not yet released, will be book #7) since things are getting a bit drawn out. Other than that, I'm enjoying the story unfolding at The House of Night.

These books were amazing. They have just the rigth amount of suspense and thrill. They are different that Twilight, but just as good.I recommend these books to anyone who would like to read something that gets away from the Twilight story line. You will just want to keep reading and reading and before you know it you will be done the books. It took me about 2 days to read each book, which is pretty amazing because I really don't like reading that much. I can't wait to read the rest of the books and see what happens to Zoey and all the gang in the next books.

I have read the first 5 books of the House of Night series and look forward to the remaining books. The books draw you in, page after page, making it difficult to put down. I would definitely recommend the House of Night series to teens and adults alike. P.C. Cast is a fabulous author and I look forward to future books from her.

I found that the world created in the house of night is interesting; the combination of Greek mythology, Cherokee legends and modern concepts of today's teenager keeps you interested as to how the authors are mixing it up and making a rather busy but enticing world to enter. There are spelling mistakes all over the place in the 2nd and 3rd book however there are less as you progress into the series. I'm anxiously waiting for the 7th book Burned - as Tempted left quite the cliffhanger!

This started out with potential. By the third book I found it utterly annoying that the authors felt the need to remind everyone of the storylines from the series. It seemed to get worse with each book. I found it unnecessary and and felt like they were just trying to accomplish the word count they needed for the book. On the same token, the editors should have done their jobs as well. If the authors don't feel that the readers can follow their storyline...they shouldn't be writing books. And If the authors need these little reminders for themselves...they shouldn't be writing anymore books to this series. It only makes the series worse, not better. Just Saying...
