I would like to start off by saying that the "Deadly" series is my favorite. Although I would recommend reading them in order (this is the 6th book). This book will really keep you on the edge of your seat...the pages just fly by. I think that Calder Hart is an amazing character. I can't wait for the next installment.

The Best So Far,

I have to say that this is by far the best book in the series to date. I was so captivated by the mixture of feelings and the endless need to solve the case and be professional despite the confusion in Francesca's life. I can't wait to see what happens next

I am hooked on the Cahill novels and wondered if Brenda Joyce could keep up the intensity with another book. She delivered, and I can't wait for the next one to come out!

It's okay, but it needs a better ending.,

Please know that Brenda Joyce does not conclude the series with this book. She leaves you hanging on the edge of your seat. However, I cannot continue to read the series. Please find a conclusion. These are the only books by Brenda Joyce I like. I feel almost as frustrated as Calder by Francesca's indecision and incontinuity. I think Deadly Affairs is the best of the series, and in comparison this book seems not as strong. Read at your own risk, lol.

I LIKE THIS BOOK; WELL I LIKE ALL OF THE CAHILL SERIS, BUT I'M SO CONFUSED ON WHY R.BRAGG'S WIFE IS NOW THE VICTIM AND HART IS NOW THE HERO ''THE NEW LOVE'' OF FRANCESCA LIFE.... I JUST THOUGHT THAT THESE BOOKS WERE ABOUT THE LOVE AFFAIR BETWEEN RICK AND FRANCESCA... DON'T GET ME WRONG THESE BOOKS KEEP ME ON MY TOES, BUT I STILL WANT FRANCESCA AND RICK TO END UP TOGETHER I LIKE HART BUT I HOPE HE FINDS ANOTHER LOVE.... AND THE WIFE ALL OF SUDDEN COMES BACK, AND NOW THE WIFE WE FEEL SORRY FOR??? UM I DON'T CARE IF SHE WAS HEALING THE SICK IN EUROPE NOBODY IN THIER RIGHT MIND WOULD TAKE SOMEONE BACK AFTER THEY LEFT FOR FOUR YEARS AFTER THEY WERE NEWLY MARRIED ESPECIALY A HUSBAND AND, DON'T FORGET WHY SHE LEFT HIM IN THE FIRST PLACE,BECAUSE HE DID NOT BECOME A PARTNER AT A WELL KNOWN LAW FIRM.. IF SHE IS SOOO SWEET WHY THE BIG GAP WHY NOT HAVE HER GONE FOR A YEAR OR LESS,,,, THEN I COULD EXCEPT THAT RICK STILL HAD PASSION FOR HIS WIFE. IT'S JUST SEEMS SO BIZARRE.. HART IS HIS BROTHER HE DESERVES HIS OWN STORY AND WOMAN....

This book was much better than the last two. I hope that Ms. Joyce will continue developing the characters since she is only writing on Deadly book a year.

I LOVE LOVE this series of Francesca Cahill novels, but HATE HATE HATE the wait! I read them in 1 or 2 days at most, and then I starve, waiting for the next installment. This is torture!I love all the characters, I love the mystery and the sensuality and the tragedy. Very well done, Brenda!

Loved it, but...,

The story was very good. I love the characters. However, Ms. Joyce needs a better editor. While not as many errors in this book as the previous "Deadly..." book, she still referred to the wrong character mentioning something that had happened. A bit confusing and breaks into the mood of the story when you have to make sense of a statement and come up with "oh, she meant Emily, not Debbie". Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Frustrating,

This review is from: Deadly Promise (Mass Market Paperback)
I wanted to scream in frustration. As the reader, I felt left out because I had not read the previous books. So I tried to enjoy the book once I accepted that the author was not giving more details about previous books. However, Fran's going back and forth over Hart and Rick was excessive and drove me crazy. Also, Fran is jealous of Rick's (WIFE) Leigh Ann, the next instant Fran is jealous of Hart paying attention to another woman. On the other hand, Fran is not happy, but resigned that Hart watched two women have sex to help further along a case she's working on. To me, the indecisive traits made Fran's character weak. Fran's character just didn't go with the storyline of the mystery. How Fran solved any cases is beyond me. This book was just too contradicting, did not have a smooth flow and didn't make sense.

You won't be able to put this book down.,

This 6th book is one of my favorites from the Deadly series. It continues on with Francesca's battle of emotions between the man she loves, the married police commissioner Rick Bragg, and his millionaire half brother Calder Hart whom she is starting to fall in love with and has become secretly engaged to in the last book Deadly Caress. You just fall in love with all the characters involved and become embroiled with what is happening. It's very fast paced and I can't wait for the next installment, but Miss Joyce said it would not be out until the beginning of 2005, since she has a new publisher. :(
