5.0étoiles sur 5 Style Statement has had a big impact on all areas of my life, Avril 8 2008
Style Statement is a must have - Carrie and Danielle have eloquently and elegantly written a manual for life. With the crazy hectic pace of modern life this book is like a much needed oasis smack in the middle of the desert. It's like liquid poetry, soothing to the soul. It's like years of therapy, in a beautiful, painless package.

Beyond the exquisite images the book contains, Style Statement has helped me rediscover me. As a business owner and mother, I've found it extremely helpful in all areas of my life. I've found my focus which is reason to celebrate.

From picking out new dishes easily and effortlessly to creating a new hairstyle to helping me partition aspects of running my business, my style statement (cultured designing) has played a role. It's a map, it's a guide, it's magical - it's a path back to you, no matter how buried the real you has become.

My only question is - so when is the next book out Carrie & Danielle?

This book is a must, not only for women, but for men.

This book will guide you to find the ability to be authentic in all parts of your life - at home, in your relationships and at work.

I've found that using my style statement, (with the accompanying exercises), as my own personal mission statement, has helped me clarify my goals, vision and direction of my life!

I highly recommend this, not only as a good read - but as a map and guide.

This is a gorgeous book to look at, and it's filled with motivating wisdom. Carrie & Danielle obviously have a direct line to the good stuff. The fortunate thing for the rest of us is that the good stuff they're tapped into is authenticity, and since the whole book is about how to tap into this powerhouse for oneself, by the end of the book there's very little chance you'll want to do anything but rock the world with your own unique self.

Their message of authenticity is very timely. The world needs as many more people as it can get to think for themselves and open up to what's personally important, rather than going along with the crowd. I'm convinced that authenticity is key to all sorts of things, like a healthier planet and healthier, more mutually responsible humans. My point here is that Carrie & Danielle's book offers a way to move along a path that doesn't need to stop at knowing what clothes are the true you for that big party. There's a world of good in this seed of a book. Get it. Grow.

5.0étoiles sur 5 Work, but worth it, Aoû 31 2008
Par Endless Page (Toronto, Ontario Canada) - Voir tous mes commentaires
I bought this book as a skeptic, and approached it with some reservations. As I worked through the self-reflective questions, I came to appreciate the depth of thought that went into its design and purpose. Finally, a book that does not classify the reader into a "pear" or "apple" or advise you to cuff your pants or not. This book goes to the essence of style. It's already saved me from numerous mistakes, and I both want and buy less. It's essential for me to add that the book also examines one's relation to the world: how you connect with family, friends and community, how you share your gifts. It's an exercise in self-awareness, not self-absorption.

A great tool in assessing the real you. I really enjoyed reading the various style statements and seeing how one's style statement can really influence decisions made in every day life. I like that it can help you better define your 'look' on the outside AND on the inside. Pick it up - you'll enjoy it.

5.0étoiles sur 5 Delightfully Informative, Avril 28 2008
An outstanding guide to finding one's self through a barage of outside input and suggestion. The collection of individuals and their 'Style Statements' is both inspiring and informative.

Holding this book in my hands and taking in the beauty and wisdom of each page was a luscious and illuminating experience. I LOVED the intimacy and humour of the Style Statement profiles - each one is like a little movie or a story vignette. Workbooks usually turn me off but this book was different; there's lots of build up, explaining and examples before you actually get down to your own work. I found the exercises short, snappy AND super effective. Ask yourself enough of the right questions and a real clarity emerges. I get it now. I get me.
