I was pretty disappointed in this book, but perhaps that's because it's a couple of years old and the concepts brought up are old hat by now. If you're unfamiliar with TDD, patterns, dependency injection, ORM maybe this book would provide some insight but I think there are better options out there. I found the sections on building out the domain model to be overly conversational, convoluted and not reflective of real world situations. I'm really surprised this book has received any positive reviews.

If you have heard about design patterns, test-driven and domain-driven design and look for the final recepie, this is it. This book is full of practical aspects of applying the best from GoF and Fowler.
