Excellent resource,

I'm a new EMT-B and I bought this book for more in-depth explanations about what we were learning in the EMTB national curriculum. This book combines both the "why" and the "how" for trauma. The first chapter is a bit dry, but the chapters on shock, head injuries, and spinal trauma, for example, are first rate. I never could figure out why PASG (MAST) usage was presented so vaguely in the AAOS textbook. Well, this manual just comes out and explains that the use of the PASG is controversial and often ineffective. Thumbs up, even if you aren't taking the course (although I hope to this year)!

I bought this book in order to take the PHTLS exam, and i found a extremely GRAPHIC and well organized BOOK, FULL COLOR with a lot of procedures. It is a good book, NOTWHITSTANDING that is a little basic, and it lacks of deep explanations, is not a deep-trauma book keep that in mind. The CD is great comes with real videos explaining lots of procedures, it even brings a Palm application.- |
